THIS takes the biscuit. American Express has written to its credit-card customers saying it has increased its APR (annual percentage rate) to a whopping 50.9%. One of the attractions of the British Airways American Express card is the ability to clock up Airmiles. But if you miss your monthly payment, at rates like this you might start to consider jumping out of one of BA’s planes. I know credit is expensive . . . but 50%?

People are going to be defaulting left right and all over the place with a % like that and a minimum 3% repayment... pretty soon the courts are going to be full of people being sued for bankruptcy :Cry:
