Wrote and requested last 6 years worth of statements, received them within 5 days and no fee payable.

 

Sent letter on 4th March (by recorded delivery) asking for £220 to be refunded to me and am waiting until 18th before I take further action.

Abbey-received DPA letter on 13/03, received some breakdown till 2004 waiting for the more recent ones(where most charges occurred)

sent reminder email on 17/4/06

called abbey on 19/04/06 to remind them:rolleyes:

sent another email on 26/04/06:mad:

Approx charges £2500

received £500 refund in dec 06

sent LBA

Capital one- sent DPA letter 17/03

Sent prim letter for charges of £260 14/04

Received a refund £109 awaiting further refund of £151

Settled IN FULL

Barclay card- Sent DPA letter 17/03 sent reminder 14/04

received info claiming £120

settled in FULL

If you get to go to court I'll come with you for moral support - I am quite near you... :)

Status:

 

Halifax - DPA sent 03/03/06.

Prelim Letter - Sent 27/03/06 ignored.

LBA sent 10/04/06 - Ignored

Moneyclaim filed - 26.04.06

Acknowledgement received 3rd May. Halifax state they intend to defend.

Halifax Settled in Full - 17 May 2006

Filed on moneyclaim and Cap One acknowledged the day after, indicating that they would be defending the whole claim.

 

However, 10 days later I receive a letter from them saying that they are happy to settle out of court for the full amount plus interest plus £30 paid to file.

 

I have of course signed this agreement and returned it to them and await my cheque for almost £170.

 

I am so happy I am doing half - cartwheels. Full cartwheels when the cheque actually arrives!

 

If anyone is having doubts about reclaiming charges, bite the bullet and go for it!
