Hello everyone,

 

As my company is making a loss due to my manager, they are looking to make cuts to the workforce. As I was the last one in (started five months ago), I am worried that I am about to be released. Can they do this? and what am I entitled to as there is nothing in my contract or terms and conditions of contract about redundanc.

Last in. first out is not a lawful redundancy selection criteria.

 

However, if they use it, you have no protection in terms of unfair dismissal as your length of service is less than 12 months; you would only be able to sure for damages for breach of contract.
