I have recently discovered that the sale of my leasehold flat had fallen through. The sale has been delayed for 6 months due to extreme delays by my property manager in providing the buyers solicitors with necessary information. The property manager has also provided inaccurate information on more than one occasion indicating that I am in arrears with my service charges.

On numerous occasions, myself, my solicitors and the buyers solicitors have attempted to contact the property manager to keep the sale on track, but they have been so terrible to deal with that the buyer has now withdrawn from the purchase.

The buyer has confirmed that the reason for withdrawing is that he does not wish to have to deal with the property managers due to their complete incompetence/ lack of co-operation.

I am now faced with the situation that the property has fallen in value by around 10 - 15% if I can find a buyer anyway in the current market.

I am furious, and feel that there should be some way to obtain recompense from the property manager for this loss in value and for the inconvenience of now not having the funds available for other needs (including some debt repayments) and ultimately to place as a deposit on a new home.

Can anyone advise me if I am able to take the property manager to court to obtain compensation? If so, where can I find more information about the process and what lawyers should I seek out to take the case forward?

I appreciate any help you can offer.
