Good question mate! :)

They wouldnt let me do that after I spoke to their representative.

So.. I've got to make another claim seeing as how barclays basically wont accept the fact that I've already won them once when I spoke to them on the phone- so it seems I've got to submit another claim to the courts it seems.

I think I will be claiming forever at this rate- they just dont seem to learn.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!!!!

The gripes I have with this site in particular is the fact that no-one yet it seems has questioned why we should all pay 5% of our winnings when this site has done none of the donkey work except provide a few letters

I wasn't going to rise to this bait.

My comments I now post relate to me and I can't speak for others.

I have spent hours, days, weeks, months. I take offense.

I will not look at this thread again.

I dont think it is getting ridiculous to be honest- just someone asking a site owner a few questions about this site.

Its nothing personal and I dont bear people and the site any ill feelings on here.

If this thread does get shut, what will you people be proving by that?

I think a lot of people might find it questionable if this thread does get shut down to be honest if they have a read through what I've put- I've not come for a slanging match.. I just ask plain and simple questions.

That is all.

And I wont be crawling into my corner anytime soon also :D

I agree with Vamp. There are too many people who need help on this site to waste time massaging the ego of someone like you.

I'm glad you got your money back (if indeed you did) and, if you feel you want to be constructive, then hang around and help. If you don't then go away.

When I visit this site, i really dont want to read through thousands of lines of junk before I see any useful information.

DarkKnight you really should spend your time putting your energy to some more constructive use, rather than trying (too hard) to justify yourself.

You are not helping, in fact you are a time waster actually.

Maybe if you used the 'magic search button' that digs through all the junk threads you will find the information quicker - apparently.

I am using my energy in helping people- dont worry about that, the count is 11 people I've helped today so far via PM and email.. so I am being constructive and also I am NOT and never will be trying to justify myself on here- I dont need to.

Also: the comment about being a time waster is quite laughable really- seeing as how I am actively helping people out and all you can do is try and stir up and argument again.

So who is wasting who's time exactly?

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!!!!

What amazes you so much Phil?

The way that barclays wouldnt accept a note on my account saying all future charges were to be reversed??

It doesnt really bother me to be honest- I'll just make another claim for the new charges if any come up, I'll call them first naturally to see if they want to comply with my wises- the usual crap I get is that the charges are lawfull.. so its back to the claim I go.

I have NOT come on here to offend anyone, how many times do I need to say this.

If people's ego's are so fragile that when someone comes on asking a few questions of this site and points out some flaws that people have to take it this way- they seriously need to take a good look at themselves in the mirror.

I am glad, and I know you have helped people on the forum- you may have put in all the time in the world and I congratulate you for it, however, if you think for one second that I will drop £200 into this sites donation box just because a used a few templates.. and got some, and to be fair, 2 useless posts from bankfodder and a new thread popped up sarcastically I might add going off about people mistakes- NOBODY on this site has earned my £200- quite frankly, I would donate £10 to the site, because thats how much I would value the help I was given at.

Again, Im not here to cause trouble- however if I do see problems on the site, dont think for one second I wont brush over them like a lot of you seem to have done.

Also: for a mod *no offence* why are you hear having a go at me when you should be out there helping people out??

Oh looky- another mod.

I suggest, no offence again, why not help other people rather than try and stab me in the back?

If you dont like what I'm putting - dont post on the thread.. simple as that.

I have personally helped 11 people today- how many have you helped can I ask, the same to you vamp?

I dont need my ego massaging - its fine as it is as well thankyou.

Also- no I wont be going away.. but thanks for trying anyway!

This guy is a f***ing wind up merchant. He has so p****d me off! Listen DK nobody is chasing you for any donation of any amount so why don't just p**s off and enjoy your money and stop getting on peoples T*ts.

I work as a volunteer for a small charity as a fundrasier. I see how much comes in but i also see how much goes out. If the volunteers on this site need money for laptops, office space etc they bloody desrve and are absolutely entitled to it. Thats not saying they do need the afore mentioned but if they do so what?

Spend your charges on a flight to Africa volunteering oversees, (one way ticket) instead of bragging about your honeymoon or whatever and see how frustrating volunteering can be....especially with idiots like you berating what they do.

Locking would not be soon enough, as the ensuing posts do nothing for the aims of the site.

In refection I am certain 99.9% of the members here would not wish to get into any debate that detracts so wildly from these aims, whilst at the same time questioning the merits of the site.........which has probably been and continues to be the most succesfull in its purpose of assisting people to get their charges back.

The comments of many claimants who have achieved this should be remembered......thats something that cannot be ignored when the integrity of the site, its admin and its founders is being questioned.

Aarrrgh, you just don't get it do you?

This is a COMMUNITY and as such we are all here to help and support each other. By consistently running down this site, I personally don't see that as being a constructive member. Okay, so you are assisting people via pm and email. But what about the others who have not happened upon this thread? By posting advice on threads here, you are not only helping that individual, but all those who read the boards looking for the answers to their questions both now and in the future.

You keep reiterating the point that you are not going to donate £200 as you don't feel the site deserves it. Well obviously that is your perogative and no one is going to force you to donate at all, but the tone of your posts and the language used is to be quite frank rude, insulting and down right unneccessary. Many people have given up a lot of time and energy to help set up and keep running this site. People like Bankfodder, MJanet, Vampiress, Bookworm, Dave, Lueeze etc etc (sorry to all those I've forgotten!). They are also not just checking threads and answering queries, but writing complex letters, putting together spreadsheets, updating this site, looking into technical and legal matters, all for the benefit of us rabble. Also those like myself, who will willingly offer advice or support if I think I can and know the answer. Some of us may not live on this site and spend all our waking hours reading the threads, but we do it of our own free will, because we have got something out of this site and want to put a little back. I personally go missing fairly frequently but like to come back as and when to post on both my own and others threads.

Looking at both your previous posts with this userid and your alterego, not once have you posted on someone elses thread offering advice even regarding the stages that you yourself have said you were totally au fait with. So how on earth can you then come on here and say you had no (or at least very little) help when you needed it? People do what they can and sometimes threads will be missed. People only have a finite amount of time and I can only assume that you do not have any children as if/when you do you will find that what time you once had soon evaporates.

Just one more point before I go to bed, your £200 that you keep banging on about that you seem to think would run this site for a month. Do you really know that little about how this sort of thing operates? Even someone as technophobic as me realises that it would cost more than that. I showed my OH (who works in IT) your posts on that issue and his face was a picture. Do some research and find out quite how much it costs to host a site of this size, bandwidth, software, software licensing, insurances, hardware, any copyrights, reference materials etc etc. Also, to seriously suggest that this site generates £3000 per day in donations and book sales? If so, you are sadly deluded. It would be fab if it did, then the people working so hard for us all could maybe look at employing some paid staff, but from what I have seen it doesn't.

Rant over, apologies to those who (and I agree) said not to feed the troll, but I have been following this thread since yesterday and have got increasingly worked up and frustrated with it until my fingers just ran away with themselves!

Don't forget to contribute to the CAG. Without them we would probably still be drafting our prelim letters.

OH Cap One - £436/ So far received £40. MCOL submitted 17/7/06. Caved 4/8/06 for full amount!!!

OH Monument - £140, claim filed 8th May. Requested judgement by default, settled in full 4th July via out of court settlement (see thread). Total £192ish received.

Me Barclays - £630. Received letter 13th May offering £300 full and final (they can bog off). Claim filed 16th May. Acknowledgement of Service filed 22nd May to defend all of the claim. Allocation Questionnaire completed and Stay been ordered by Judge on 18/7/06!!!

Oh, let me see, how many people have I helped tonight. Erm, about 45,000.

What I enjoy most here is the support I see from everyone else posting here. Thankyou everyone, your comments are most welcome and appreciated.

Dk, I understand your frustrations. Occasionally one or two people do get overlooked and I'm glad you were able to use my spreadsheets. If you would like to help, I'm struggling to find the contractual interest rates for all different types of current accounts with all the different banks over the last six years in order to create my latest spreadsheet. I'd appreciate some assistance if you have the time.

Many thanks.

And I'm posting in this thread in my spare time.

If you have anymore questions for me personally, can you please PM me. Thanks.

Dark Knight- I wasn't going to ask questions but as everyone still is then I thought I would ask. It's a good thing that you want to help people on this site but surely you realise it is a "work in progress", that is that no one on here are experts on every single topic and as more people join who may have expertise one way or another, the knowledge base grows. You did sign a confidentiality clause which even if it was on a scrap of paper and you were under no duress to sign is leagally enforceable. You work in IT for Lloyds if my memory serves me correctly so you would have "insider" knowledge of their IT systems. My understanding is that all people who are contracted to banks sign agreements because you could be in an environment in which you would potentially see customer information, for exmple, if you had to go behind the scenes of a branch to sort out a hard drive. Obviously, I am making assumptions here so I could be wrong. You ask many questions of this site re finances. Have you also done this of Barclays? At the time in which you made you're claim, you mentioned that your lawyer friend stated about the Statute of limitations Act, but as you stated on this thread it wouldn't have applied anyway because you would not have had charges on them. People are challenging that and there is a good discussion on that in this site. I would suggest you read that now and ask your friend whether he considers the arguments valid(I am aware that this thread commenced after your case may have been defended).

I ask one question of your job in Lloyds. Do you know the true cost of the returning an item as it is automated? I agree with you thatyou have the right to ask questions of this site, BUT i think it is what seems to be implied ie that the site owners are creaming off any profit from donations, which has infuriated people.

Oh.......and it took me 30 seconds(actually it was 20 but I won't quibble 10 seconds!) to find the compny name and reg number from companies house. As they say on here, if you read the info on the site you can get theanswer. I did and was curious to find out how easy it was to get. I have one further question(still curious). What in your opinion is the cost to run this site in your opinion, just a rough estimate?

I will add my two pennyth for what its worth.

I have been reading this thread from the start and have been amazed by the arrogance and attitude of Dark Knight.

I do hope that he isn't sued by Barclays cos I'm pretty sure he won't get the legal advice and guidance he needs to defend himself from this forum! I would suggest that he doesn't make a donation to this site, and holds onto the money he has had returned, so that he can employ a good solicitor to defend him should that happen.

I also hope that anyone fool enough to ask for his help with their claims understands that he doesn't have many answers. If he struggled to deal with his own claim I doubt very much that he will have answers to anything that is 'slightly difficult'!

I wish you well for the future Dark Knight, but don't give up your day job!

Now please go away!

Generally speaking we don't close threads unless they become abusive (that's not an invitation by the way) and I don't think we've ever banned a user as such.

In my view DK is a troll and he or she is being deliberately disruptive. If action is necessary it will be taken but we're not quite there yet.

I just to add my pennys worth and would like to say a HUGE thank you to this site and everyone who helps run it.

Sometimes I have posted questions and not had an answer and sometimes the response I have received has been fantastic. This site has also given me the opportunity to talk to people in the same boat and exchange information.

If it wasn't for the time and effort that this site has put into providing letters, info, spreadsheets etc I wouldnt be on my way to recovering £4k in bank charges & yes I will be donating a proportion to the site.

THANK YOU

Has anyone considered that Barclays has been obtaining money by deception over a very long period of time ? Crime doesn't pay ? We have all been [edit] over the past thirty or forty years and we just want our money back. Would Barclays press criminal proceeding against us if the situation was reversed. This country needs to sort out the rights and wrongs into crimes rather than earnings brackets. Justice for all irrespective of your income. Funny how they tend to pick on the little guys first. "No money to spare no defence to offer" should be barclays new company motto. Lets hope the government step in and stamp on these people. The Americans had the right idea when they prosecuted the Nat West three methinks.

Just my opinion remember.

Thats interesting you should mention that to be honest, because I think I am EXACTLY the kind of person to be advising on a personal level, because and correct me if I'm wrong dear peeps- I have seen one person come onto the barclays section and say they have won- the rest of them I think bar that one person I've seen have signed and taken the cash.. and ran with it without helping other people.

They have not once come back on here and tried to help others like I have been doing over the past couple of days and the best you can come back with is 'oh your breaking your confidentiality agreement'

Incredible- really truly incredible..

Can I just say I was all prepared to regularly come back and offer help and I do occassionally lurk. I settled out of court *JJ v Barclays - Settled* and when I asked for my litigation to be updated all of my progress was removed from the litigation section completely, so I felt a little dismissed otherwise there would have been two people you would have seen! By the way I didn't agree to the confidentiality.

FFS, mistakes happen. Did you pm Bankfodder or whoever you had asked to update the litigation to let them know your case hadn't been added to the concluded section?

So because of that, you are now not going to help others in the same way that you received help? Sorry, rubbish excuse.
