Hello,

I moved into rented accomodation around 2 months ago and from the blinds in the living room and kitchen basically broke from the moment i touched them, the kitchen's blinds actually fell on top of me and the living rooms will not open or close, without you moving each wooden piece manually by hand or lift up anymore due to the string snapping.

I called my letting agency and they said they would go about getting them fixed but its been about 4 weeks now and it seems as if the landlord doesnt want to pay out to get them repaired so now we have no privacy in our kitchen and there is little light in the living room during the day as i can't lift the blinds up, it's as if we're living underground!

The blinds were apart of the inventory so do we have grounds here to end our tenancy as moving out of this place would be a huge benefit due to having constant problems with things here since I moved in?

Thanks in advance!

No. A breach of the agreement does not constitute termination of the agreement.

Write to them stating that you expect this to be repaired within 7 days of your letter. If it is not, you will get someone out to repair the issue, and deduct the cost from the rent, as per your right of offset.
