Hi cleo and welcome to the house of fun.:)

I take it you have reqested your statements/charges from the bank, did you enclose the £10 fee. The bank now have 40 days to send them to you. I suggest you go onto the the forum libararies on this site and all the info you require is there. But I am sure everyone here will help all they can.

Good Luck.

Hi - can anyone help me please . I am ready to prepare a schedule of charges for my next letter.

However on 31st August before I sent SAR letter I wrote the bank asking them to freeze any charges for a temporary perio (this has not happened ) and had no response. Since sending SAR and receiving statements - today I received a letter referring to my recent letter (doesn't say which one) regarding the charges levied to my account asking me to contact them to discuss in further detail "so that a solution can be obtained".

There is no date on the letter and I am unsure if it is a reply to SAR or my previous letter???

I have read on this site not to enter into dialogue - can anyone help please?

thanks

You don't need to contact them, unless you want to try to see if some thing can be worked out. If you are getting nowhere on the phone, then let them know if future everything must be done in writing.

They know what your issue is with them, carry on with your claim. As soon as you are ready you can send the prelim letter off with your spread sheet.

Hello Cleo,

As someone has already stated-it can not be stressed enough, that you make your communications by letter and send all letters via recorded delivery!

It was interesting to see that a year after I hi-lighted the fact, Yorkshire continue to send out letters with no date on them!

Hi - thanks for that - however I am worried they close my account - I am still over limit and the charges are making it worse.

However I have opened a parachute accouint just in case.

Also I am unsure which letter this replies to - - however seems more than a coincidence that they replied after SAR letter and did not respond to my letter asking for charges to be frozen???????. What really annoys me is that through choice we have been reducing overdraft voluntarily by £100 each month to make an effort.

It is better to post it to head office. If you hand it in to your local branch, you need to ask for a receipt as proof you handed it in. Most banks won't do this.

The contact details are at the top of the page.

Hi - I hand delivered it to branch today! Did not see late posts.

However I have taken copies and stored on memory stick and noted dates. When I hand delivered SAR to my branch the statements arrived in record time.

Going through the charges has made me realise just how much we are being ripped off - i never would have dreamed it was that much.

Appreciate any help or advice further

It soon adds up cleo4patra and its the only time your glad to see a charge on your statements however this is when your told by the bank that they have a waiver to suspend dealing with bank charge complaints due to the test case ongoing but you have now had your complaint logged and time should now stand still on your claimback when the test case is over, unfortunately many people will not start reclaiming until the test case is over allowing the banks to keep the older charges so tell everyone you know to start their claim now.

Good luck

Hi - thsnkd

I also put in the letter that they had left me with no choice - their charges are causing me seriuos financial difficulties. I cannot believe they would treat us like that after 30 years. They have been charging me 25.00 a day for going over my overdraft - and it is killing us

Hi - can anyone help me?

What would happen if i had my salary etc paid into another bank account leaving my Yorkshire Bank Overdraft owing which i would offer to pay at so much each month.

They are leaving me no choice - they have been charging me 25.00 a DAY for going over my overdraft. I wrote asking for them to be frozen but to no avail - they are crippling me.

Hi, Cleo.

Yes, you should shift your cash. Like you say, you can pay them back, and once your charges are sorted, they'll be due you money.

If you are going to claim for hardship, then send this letter, and there is an expenditure sheet in the link aswell. Fill it out and send as much proof of hardship as possible.
