Just wondering about the legalities involved in banks who are able to just take money out of your account whenever they say they claim they are owed it. Regardless of whether they its unlawful or not, ie - if the unauthorised overdraft cost is only £3 - how right is it that they should be able to just take it?

If it was any other kind of service I would expect an invoice or a bill and then have the freedom to first of all verify what I am being charged and then make the payment within a timescale suitable to both myself and the company.

Although my account may be held with them, I personally don't think they should have the right to dip into my account without the chance to challenge any charges or stop them.

I would expect this is covered in the banks small print - but I think this is a point that should be looked at.
