DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thank's for the fast reply! =D

I was under the impression you could still claim unfair bank charges if you were in a DMP?! Or is this incorrect?!

Cheer's! =D

Hey Tingy,

they must send a copy of my agreement if I just send the SAR then?!

Okay, sound's like a plan.

With respect to Link financial, would they also have access or be able to send me a complete rundown of any charge's etc on the card or would I still have to contact MBNA directly!?

Also, in response to my previous post, do I send these SAR's to the original branch where I got the loan from or to the head office of the bank?

Thank's for your assistance!! =D

re Link send the SAR to the OC. Unless Link own the debt, they won't have the paperwork.

As regards where to send it, I send them to the address on letters or backs of envelopes and let them sort out exactly where it shoud be going.

And yes, an SAR gives you ALL they hold about you, so that will include the agreement if they have one.

  • 9 years later...

Evening all,

Just a quick one...

I'm about to send out CCA requests to a few creditors on debts which are well over 10 years old.

Could anyone please point me to the correct address to post to regarding Cabot Financial, Link Financial Ltd and Barclays Collections & Recoveries?

I've tried searching and Googling but there are so many different branches to these firms it's hard to know what's what.

Any help will be much appreciated! :)

when was the lasttime you paid these debts?

why are you now suddenly deciding to send CCA requests off?

Long story short DX.

..I have worked offshore for years and when I get home my son lives 200 miles away so I've never really had a place of my own.

I didnt want to be sending DCA to family addresses (C/O addresses).

I have paid the debts through various DMP and never missed a payment but now my personal circumstances have changed I'm going to handle it myself as I am now in the UK permanently.

ok merged a  few random threads here regarding your debts from years gone by.

are you still with spectrum? i think they went bust so you had pass the parcel to someone else and they ripped you off too i bet.

shame you did get those CCA's off in 2008 nor in 2011 as you has blindly been cash cowed on all your debts for years i bet.

Yeah. I know mate. But like I said. Did'nt want to leave family with  nuisance calls and all that. Not with Spectrum. It's changed to MoneyPlus now.

Reading back over those threads brings it home really.

I could have saved myself a fortune but it is what it is.

If I remember correctly I did SAR everyone. I vaguely remember receiving a huge amount of documents from Barclays I think and maybe that put me off?

My next payment is due in a few days...I've already put it on hold until I figure out what to do.

SAR to all it is...

The accounts were with MBNA credit card, EGG (loan and card) and Barclays (think this was current account...overdraft possibly?).

woe slow down...

just sar moneywise only.

leave the CCA requests for now

no need to do anything about the debts themselves just yet

what i want to insure is they get your correct address first.

or

is the previous address one you would get mail from ?

I've just checked in my portal online and my adress has been changed to my new address.

All correspondance usually goes to old address (mothers)...only changed address a couple of days ago.

Do I make this months payment or not?

So sent a SAR to MoneyPlus? My DMP? Excuse my ignorance but what would that achieve?

Okay. Will do.

Do you mean when I initially took the credit?

If I remember correctly it would go to either my mothers address or a house I shared with the ex.

I was living with the ex when I took out the initial DMP with Spectrum.

I haven't had letters off any creditors for years.

Actually...Link used to send me a balance every now and then to my mothers address.

If you mean would my mother forward the mail in a reasonable time this can be arranged so I don't miss anything.

have a read of the above threads.

we will in the fullness of time CCA each fleecer, but there is no rush,

simply wait for each individual owner of each debt to chase you by letter

then using the address they write from - you send them a CCA request.

should it transpire their CCA is enforceable (after you scan it up here and we check it) then you might resume payment

for now a month or two of missed payment cannot hurt you

you credit file would have been defaulted years and years ago by each one

so they can't now do anything to harm you - the defaults are all well passed +6yrs. so the A/c's can never comeback.

stop payment to MP . SAR them.

lets get you out of the DCA's cash cow milking parlours first.

do not communicate with anyone without checking here 1st.

as you'll read in those threads, the various fleecers will pull every trick in the book to get their cash cow back to being blindly milked.

do not fall for any of it!!

i'll excuse the fact you've been here years and should know better ...

but stick by the rules of engagement.

do not EVER give any fleecer an email address or use email to them

do not ever speak on the phone to them.

writing from now on only.

read the red bits below too....carefully

  • 5 months later...

Afternoon...

Has it really been 3 months? Dear lord.

Well, I finally got my SAR back from Money Village. I received it a couple of weeks ago. There's very little there to be honest and they say they never received complete records when the company changed hands back in 2018.

As for the rest...

I currently have 2 accounts with Cabot. They keep calling but I don't answer. I've received a few letters regarding CCJ's but nothing major.

I still have 2 accounts with LINK who I have received a couple of letters from enquiring about payment.

Finally...my debt with Barclays has been passed to MOORCROFT who repeatedly call and send letters.

What now? :)

as long as they all have an address be it your current or your mums whereby you quickly (say 2 weeks) would know if any have sent a letter of claim.

you are safe to ignore each one.
