I wonder if anyone can help?

I have emailed 2 DPA requests to the Halifax, both of which have been acknowledged. Within my requests I also asked them to debit each account with £10 in payment.

They have not debited the fee on either account. Does this mean that the 40 days has not started yet, or can I accept that it started upon receipt of the e-mail?

Should I send them another e-mail along the lines of:-

"Dear Sirs

You are aware that I submitted a DPA request on the abvove-numbered account on XXDATEXX and instructed you to debit my account with the standard £10 fee. I note, to date, that you do not appear to have collected this charge.

You are aware that you have 40 days in which to comply with my request and this time will expire on XXDATEXX. I would therefore respectfully as you to debit my account with £10 in payment.

Yours faithfully"

Any comments most welcome...
