Hi,

Does this make my existing employment contract void?

No probably not. It would technically depend on the exact nature of the name change.

But this is probalby either covered by the TUPE regs in which case your T & C's of employment contract continue unchanged OR if outside TUPE, the very fact that you continue workng and they continue paying you creates an unwritten employment contract. In the absence of any evidence of attempted changes, the T & C's of your old contract should continue in the new 'implied' one e.g. right to same salary, holidays etc

Remember to keep the old contract / handbook as evidence of what your terms were / are
