Hi everyone, i recently was fined for a Rail offence by the courts. I admitted the offence and happy (well sort of!) to pay. The letter said the full amount must be payed within 21 days and i thought that would be ok as i got payed 2 weeks later.

Due to unforeseen circumstances i am unable to get the full amount and wont have until the end of this month. I offered to pay them half now and half at the end of the month but they said the most they could do was suspend my account for 2 weeks.

I know this is a longshot but is there anything else i can do to change their minds? i really dont a warrant being issued for my arrest just for the sake of around 10 days.

Any help much appreciated

What did you do, rob the train? I am not an expert in Court Fines, but obviously you can't be forced to pay what you don't have. I am pretty sure you wont be jailed, unless you outright refuse to pay. I would go back to the Court, pay what you can afford, with a promise to pay the remainder at the end of the month.

I believe that you need to speak to the enforcement officer, not just a clerk in the office.
