Can you read english (and can you write it as well,) if you read what has been told me by the DWP they say that they "do" send...........but "Don't" say that they instruct or request HBOS to SHOW THE NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBERS......THAT PLAIN ENOUGH.............end of.....bye

And if you read what other people tell you banks have no control over what shows on the transfer, it will always show the reference number no matter who sends it or what it says, seen as you know it all though that doesnt matter. "nuff" thats not even a word so dont start lecturing people about spelling, get down off your high horse

Mick, I was going to take my own advice before I read this bit. The above bit of your quote I have put in bold(I didn't pick it up from your posts at all). Do the DWP request that the banks DO NOT show the National Insurance number? Otherwise how does HBoS know NOT TO DO THIS. Remember, unless instructed otherwise, then no financial institution can interfer or alter the payment which are being sent directly to a valid bank account and sort code. If DWP send the NI number the payment then if they do not instruct the bank otherwise, then they cannot stop it.

Can you clarify with DWP, whether they instruct the banks NOT to show an NI number? If us bankers on here are as thick as s*** then unless we are instructed NOT TO SHOW an element of the payment from the sender then we SHOW IT.

I would be interested in their response.

Mollington, Mick has already stated he will not close the thread. There is one valid issue which I do think is at issue. DWP send payments for benefit to a bank with NI numbers and it would appear that they do not instruct HBoS NOT to show them on bank statements and, apologies for the inference here, mick, but allow the bank discretion in showing it on statements, as there is no instruction to do otherwise.

Seasoned users will know that the team does not close threads lightly. In fact quite often there is deliberate disruption by posters in the hope that they can influence such closure...we are quite aware of this.

Its not fair on those who are genuinly adding to legitimate debate to see a thread closed on account of one or two who cant follow the rules-rather I think better to moderate those who are causing the problems.

Its not hard to understand. So the message again is....the thread is under moderation and those seeking to cause offence or upset with inuendo or insult will be dealt with in accordance to site rules and policy.Take it as you will-but take it as a warning.

Just for clarification Hoose-your post contained not only your words but also quoted extracts....hence the moderation of the whole post.

It is the usual way of doing things-however if you have problems with that then feel free to PM Admin.

Which I would understand and agree with if the post I quoted had also been removed, however, it has not (post #48 on this thread).

Can I ask, was my post reported for some reason which resulted in its moderation?

I am not trying to be difficult or a "trouble maker" I am just trying to understand the systems in place
