Hiya i have had my contents insurance for under a week, to start from the day i filed in the forms.

I have been painting the new house and on the sofa i have lotsa paint marks off where the paint has splashed from the roller to the sofa.

I know i have accidental damage cover. But what is the process of claiming and is it actually worth it. I have no receipts for my sofa and im just totally clueless what to do.

I have took out the insurance with nationwide.

Pls help xxxxxxxxxxxx

I doubt you'd be able to claim for this. You have to prove that you took reasonable care to prevent the damage from occurring (this is a condition of every insurance policy). For example, by covering the sofa with an old sheet/old blanket before starting to paint.
