Noticed lots of self storage businesses springing up of late, £10 per week.

does this have any significance??

Have noticed a proliferation of secure (£10 per week) storage companies springing up in my area recently, does this have any significance to anything??

NOt really. They are quick money makers. But with the "resecssion" on its way, I would think that thease smaller companys will find it hard.

 

I work for a storage company, and we are feeling the pinch. Did anyone see the news with regards to the shair price for Big Yellow.

Sounds to me like disaster capitalism getting started (google it - scary stuff).

 

If the credit crunch, and higher prices for food/energy/every-bloody-thing bite us further and cause lots of people to lose their home those people will almost certainly have rakes of household stuff (TV, hifi etc) they don't want to lose or have to sell in the knowledge they'll have to replace it all sooner or later. Stands to reason they'll need somewhere fairly cheap and easily accessible to store that stuff 'til they get housed again won't they?

 

Just think, in 30 years we'll think these were the good old days...

Other than south Yorkshire has had a lot of secure storage companies springing up lately, no not really.
