Hi

I wanted to know, if a student withdraws from a course. They are in the first year of a 1 year course, and received the tuition fee loan and grant.

Will they be eligible for support if they go on to do a 4year course?

Thanks

Hi, you could ask your LEA. A few years ago, my daughter had to leave Uni after a year and one term and she had student loans. She's now been offered a place at a different university and has been told she's eligible to apply for, and will probably be allowed, financial support. I also did my own degree 10 years ago and had to temporarily withdraw but was allowed to have an extra loan later to finish it. The only problem is of course, with loans you have to repay them at some point. Ask the LEA, as I say, I'm sure they will consider it favourably. Good luck!
