Hi there, just thought I'd let you all know the outcome regarding the NatWest not removing my name from a joint account when I split from my partner 12 months ago. To recap, we had both signed the relevant forms to say my ex would take over the account on no less than four occasions. The bank just kept dodging the issue and would not take my name off. My ex had since incurred an unautherised overdraft on the account but was willing to accept responsability so we couldn't see the problem.

Finally after eleven months of worry the FSO have contacted me to say that my name is now off the account (I've checked and it is) and the Nat West is going to compesate me to the sum of £200.

It pays to persist so power to us consumers.
