I have held a full licence for 9 years, but have never owned a car. For the past 3 years, i have ridden a motor scooter. The scooter was stolen 18 months ago, and i made a claim. I now wish to sell my scooter, and get a car. Do i have to declare claim on application form (for car), and does the time elapsed since claim count towards ncb? Thank you.

Yes you do have to declare it. NCB runs in whole years, so if it is 19 months since the claim. The NCB will be one year (providing there have been no ther claims).

You may need to shop around, many car insurers won't allow bike NCB.
