hi all,

can i be charged an overlimit charge, an arrears charge and have interest added on a credit card account once the account is in default...

i was paying £10 a month on a credit card from the co-op when i missed a payment. i had previously had all charges frozen.

i was sent a default notice and threatened with court action.

these charges have wiped out 6 months worth of payments and it just seems pointless to carry on paying the £10 a month.

the co-op agrees and have raised the monthly payment to £44 a month, or else!!!

they have agreed to freeze all charges again if i meet this demand.

the arrangement would last for 1 year and then be reviewed.

I would send a CCA request to see exactly what the T&C's say - to my knowledge, they should not be charging these fees and interest as when the account is in default it no longer usually occurs these fees, but I may be corrected on this.

All help is merely my opinion only - please seek legal advice if you need to as I am only qualified in SEN law.
