I have posted this in the retail forum but wondered if anyone could help me out,

This is a long story but a family member has purchased a tv from currys which developed a fault 2 weeks after buying it , currys sent out there engineer who was in a bad mood and he insisted that it was her extension lead that was faulty and went away, so she went to currys who agreed to replace it, the new TV was being delivered today to the store so she collected it and took the old TV back with her she took the receipt to the collection door and they brought out the new TV the lad saw the old one in the van and didn't take it as she went to go back in the store a chap started having ago at her because she was parked on the pavement outside the main doors so she closed the door on the van and drove off she asked her husband what she should do with the TV and he said take it down the tip which she has done , what I am asking is if Currys want the TV back what should she say, I assumed that currys would not have refunded her for the old one without it being returned first.

she asked her husband what she should do with the TV and he said take it down the tip which she has done ,

 Why on earth didn't she ask Currys?

what I am asking is if Currys want the TV back

Then she's got a problem, unless she can recover the TV from the tip and it's still in one piece

Why on earth would you take a new TV albeit faulty to the tip....I think Currys will be after you for the TV - if their inefficient administration systems notice that you did not return it.

Poppynurse :)

1) Its very hard to understand a story with no punctuation

2) Why would someone just drive off with TWO teles when they were blatently aware that they were replacing the faulty one.

3) What sort of person tells their wife to take it down the tip? Surely going back to the store with his wife to take the TV back / make a complaint would be more productive?

If i was the manager of currys personally I would of involved the police, surely thats theft?

Indeed. And surely CAG as a reputable site shouldn't be endorsing this kind of thread.
