when i bought my x box 360 the guy in dixons who sold it to me managed to convince/con me into taking out the coverplan by saying that at a later date if my "little sister dropped it down some steps by accident and killed it" nudge nudge wink wink, i could claim on the coverplan and get vouchers which i could use to spend on anything in dixons/currys.

i was wondering if anybody knew that if i genuinely did drop it down some stairs to its destruction would coverplan actually cover this and would they send me vouchers if the machine is not repairable or would they send me a replacement xbox.

thanks

If it isn't repairable and the fault is covered by coverplan you will receive vouchers in order to replace the item with one of equivalent specification - not necessarily to the value of the purchase price, though.

If you read the T+Cs of your plan it will tell you all this.

And if you deliberately damage it then it will not be covered - I believe the term is obtaining money / goods / services by deception, and that it is not advocated on here.

Of course if it was accidentally dropped then that is a different matter, though I am not advocating that either one is being used or suggested.
