what do u want to know?

it mentions nothing about PPI it does mention that if you settle your account early then you may be entitled to a rebate of the charge for credit.

I dont have a copy of my credit agreement either so would not be able to look on there.

hi godmother, how r u? hope you fine.

i havnt got the agreement im going to send for it along with a statement of account. shopacheck has charged me for a couple of bounced cheques. charges are £11.00 each.

but as i was looking through my payment book at the back of book it says

shopacheque

new agreement from 30/6/02

payment protection insurance

no one can forsee what may happen in the future. ill health or an accident can happen to anyone, regardless of how well life seems. your payment protection insurance can give you the security, that if the forseen happens your payments will be made.

throughout this policy you will see some words in bold type.

about your cover

the insurance has been arranged by shopacheck financial services and is underwritten by norwich union.

when you take out payment pro/insurance you are asked some questions to check that you are covered.

you are eligable to be insured when you take out an agreement with shopacheck provided that

the total amount (including all principle, interest and charges) owed by you under your agreement or as a total under all agreements, if you have more than one.

then it carries on like all other ppi agreements informing when and when you can or cant claim.

but what im grumbling about is that i never even knew ppi was in with the loans.

******************************************************

yet i found this about shopacheck who is owned by welcome finance.

website/ http://www.competition-commission.org.uk/inquiries/ref2007/ppi/pdf/third_party_submission_cc_investigation_cattles_plc.pdf

Cattles specialises in offering finance to non-standard finance consumers who may not be able to secure standard finance, for example from the high street banks, because of CCJs, mortgage arrears or other credit problems. Cattles provides both secured, unsecured and hire purchase loans through its Welcome Financial Services ("WFS") brand which are repayable by monthly direct debit.

5.2 Cattles also owns the Shopacheck Financial Services brand which provides home credit loans. Cattles does not provide PPI on its home credit loans and so the Shopacheck brand is not relevant to the Commission's inquiry.

so why is it mentioned in the back of my payment book?
