Hello,

I bought Toshiba laptop for £799 online with Jonny Lewis in 13/09/07. After two months CD drive broke.

I took that laptop (30 November 2007) to the nearest JL store-in Welwyn Garden City.

In 22nd of December JL called me that due to Christmas rush I will have to wait a bit longer for repair.

In 6th January 2008, after 37 days I called Audio/Electrical Service Desk Department in WGC, they didn't know what happend with my laptop, after 2 hours they called me back and said that my laptop is in some stage of repair and to continue technicians need my password to computer. Next day technicians from Toshiba called me and asked me about my password again.

In 21 January Service Department called me that laptop is ready to collect:D .

I went there and....Laptop came back with scratch on the lid:-x .

Bloke from Service Department took my laptop to investigate and promised me to call next day. Nobody called me yesterday, nobody call me today. I guess that I will be waiting and waiting.

I'm really fed up now.

I had that laptop for 2 months and I'm already waitning for 1,5 month for repair.

I can't wait any longer!!!! Please does anybody know what can I do?? Can I request new laptop or money back??

for said equipment you are well within your rights to ask for a replacement under the jl code of conduct.

TBH they are one of the better retailers, 7 all though it is frustrating i am sure you will get good service inthe end.

 

if it were me, i would contact the manager of the store and get some guns firing for you.

Thank you for all advices.

I've visited John Lewis on Friday 1st Feb. I've spoke( with raised voice) with Mrs Manager and demand my money back and I got it!!

:rolleyes: Now I can start again looking for a laptop (this time I'll exclude JL)
