Hi i am new on here and desperate for some advice and help.

Basically my husband bought a butchers business 18 months ago, it was a unit in a market so we bought the "good will" and the lease was 28k per year. The business was registered at our home address in case mail went missing if posted to the market etc.

The business did not do well and after seeking advice from an insolvency company my husband closed the doors at 5 pm on the day he had made the phone call as we were trading at a loss.

Just before xmas we recived a court letter demanding almost £ 10k for meat we had from the suppliers, needless to say we have not got the money,no equity in our home and my husband is working for a pittance of £12 per annum.

i rang the insolvency company for advice and they said "ignore the letter as they have no right to send it as you are not liable for the debt as company was LTD" we ignored the letter and have now been issued with CCJ and asking how we can oay this money back. I have telephoned the courts and asked for a form to ahve the CCJ rescinded- it costs £75.

Where do we stand, i am worried sick as we have very little spare cash and do not know where to begin,

many thanks
