my wife has a current account with llyods with a rather unflexible cash point card that can only be used at llyods cash points. Now my wife has only been in the uk for a year, she has held the account since may, her wages go in every month they arnt much around 800 pounds. lately we have asked for a debit card upgrade but each time the bank are rude and say there must be something on her credit file. after getting her file there is nothing at all on the file she has no debts and just this bank account shows, according to experian her credit score is 867 out of 1000 which doesnt seem that bad and she is registered on the electoral roll.

Does anyone have any clue why llyods with not give her even a visa electron card ?

this is borderline madness as this cash card is so restrictive.

What can she do

They were obviously guessing at the reason, as it is the most frequent reason for refusal.

Show them the Credit Report and suggest they look again. It might be something to do with her short time in the UK.

I recently opened a basic Step account with Natwest, (with a less than perfect credit record), and got a debit card, without actually asking for one!

So, if you get no joy from LTSB, shop around.:)

Hi, bazrazmataz.

Try another Bank or Building Society.

I've got a poor credit score of 702.

Had no problems getting a Visa Electron Card with A & L and the Co-op Bank. Basic Accounts.

Have a look at this..........

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

If in doubt, you should seek the opinion of a Qualified Professional.
