At the moment I have a two-rate prepayment meter supplied by Scottish Power. However both rates are set to the same tariff (10.32 ppu + £1.20 weekly standing charge) so it is effectively functioning as a single-rate meter. I have night storage heaters that are currently unused as I have no discount on the nightly consumption. Also I want the prepayment meter out as it causes me severe problems when I run out of juice and the supply goes off.

I applied to British Gas/ Scottish Gas (Click Energy 4) to take over the supply but Scottish Power raised continual objections and BG eventually told me they were unable to take over the supply... The reason for this apparently is that there are two supply numbers relating to supply of electricity at the property. These are:-

02-589-115-18-0002-0480-291 [commenced 1/4/1996]

02-617-117-18-0005-2123-233 [commenced 17/1/2002]

I have paid Scottish Power £125 deposit and instructed them to remove the prepayment meter and install a regular credit meter, they are supposed to carry this out tomorrow morning. I would ideally like EBICo's Equipower package which is 12.46 ppu daytime and 4.50 ppu nightime with nil standing charge.

Can anyone please advise me if I am going about this the right way? I wondered if I should have asked SP to put in a two-rate meter instead? Will I end up with three supply numbers? If so how can I get them updated? I also need to find out if EBICo will charge me for putting a two-rate meter in... Any advice gratefully recieved!
