Ensure any redundancy payments are used effectively - Putting them in a flexible account in which savings will earn interest for as long as possible and only be drawn down when they are needed - When looking at savings accounts, the headline interest rate is not the only thing to consider – some savings accounts impose charges and penalties, whilst others offer additions such as free insurance cover and additional flexibility
