Thank you!

Well I sent off my initial claim letter with all the charges highlighted on copy

statements. I know someone that got their refund through the Ombudsman

service but they had to wait until the the bank said no before they could

claim through them but I think I will do the same.

One thing I don't understand is what happens if I get more charges in the

meantime? Do I have to put in another claim or can I just add them to this

one and if so how?

In the past its been ok to add these on by ammending the charges schedule (quite easy before the Court stage ) Once at the Court stage, it required filing an ammendment or getting the bank to agree before settlement to include the extra chages.

The OFT route has changed since the test case was announced and they too are now awaiting the results.

So for the moment you can simply send an ammended charges schedule to the defendants if they arise.

Hi Ginan,

Just read that you sent copy statements to Barclays. You may be better using a site spreadsheet to prepare a SOC (Schedule of Charges).

Look here - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/182-6-interest-calculation-spreadsheets.html and select the BANK, SIMPLE option.

This spready has the advantage that it auto-updates the s.69 interest which you can claim when you file at court. It's also a neater way to present your charges in a format that is recognised.

Any further chgs you incur BEFORE you file at court can be added onto the spready and reclaimed.

Yes thank you all! I did use the spreadsheet and the way it works out the

interest was really useful to me as I am terrible at percentages! I included

the statements as I wanted to make it as easy as possible for them.

I now have to wait for them to respond but I wiil let you all know when they do.

Thats fine.

Nice thought about making it easy for bank but, unfortunately, totally wasted. They certainly WON'T do the same for you !

Stick to the examples set out for each stage of the process and you'll get there.
