Hi,

I was reading in another thread that when we sign for a credit card etc, we agree to their terms and conditions which normally allow them to sell our account on.

However, in the other thread, someone wrote that we havent necessarily given the assignee consent to pass our personal information to a third party.

So for example in one of my cases, where MBNA have sold my account to Arrow Global LLC, it might be the case that Arrow Global have disclosed my personal information to Eversheds without my permission.

I am going to go read my T&C's now but what opinions do you have on this?

hmm,

i think you need one of the data protection boffins on this

however, providing the company can prove that it is fair and lawful to process your data and they have a legitimate reason i do believe they can

i will probably be corrected but the DPA 1998 is not one im fully familiar with

i tend to read it when i need it

Regards

paul
