Now that I have returned to the wonderful world of CAG and, being new to the North East, haven't yet built up the massive social life I had in Kent I was wondering if there were any CAGers up here that would like to meet up for a pint somewhere up here. I have provisionally said Newcastle but would be happy to go to Sunderland, Durham or even Teesside if that's where most of the people are.

What do you reckon?

It's not wicked at all, he told me on the phone that he should be heading South at some point, so I'd rather wait! :-D

So I take it there aren't many people on the forum from the Northeast? I will have to do some recruiting!

It's either that or my reputation preceeds me

Welcome to the NorthEast ...:)

I'm in Durham Blueskies and happy to meet up either in Durham or in Newcastle where I go regularly to meet up with friends ...

Furthest I've been North is Manchester to see Jethro Tull! Tend to go to warmer climbs on me broom as gets stickitis easily.

How about organising a meet either between christmas and new year (if people are up this way visiting family) or sometime early in the new year?

I take it Newcastle is the best place for it.

I would like to make it quite early in the New Year. Yes there are definitely YHA's up here but not sure where yet. With most CAG gatherings people are generous enough to host visiting CAGers so if anyone has a spare room to let they may contact you via PM.

I have ended up on many a CAG floor (some have even been kind enough to lend me a bed)

OLD thread sorry - but tiglet, what school in Jesmond did you go to??? Just curious :) wasnt one of the private schools was it?

Also, thought might try and resurrect this idea - I'd be up for a north east meet....

It was one of the private (well, public) schools, I'm afraid ... although I got there on the assisted places scheme after scoring highly on the 11+, so please don't hold that against me ;)
