  1. Hi all, Just having a quick look at my credit history today... Vodfone have given me 5 differnt "1" defaults over the past 2 years, nothing against the 5 years prior and my last one was August 2012. I may have been a tiny bit late on my payment once or twice, but nothing to warrent a complete attack on my Credit History. All my debts were paid quickly and promtly, as I have never had loss of service. Is there anything I can do to fix this?I know Vodafone are under ZERO obligation to enter this information to the credit agencies, so why woudl they and without telling thier valued customers? Horrified to see this and have now cancelled my account with Vodafone pronto. I am concidering doing the same for my wife and 3 childrens accounts. Since my account has been closed - Vodafone have shut the door on my on-line account, so I cannot see my past bills or activity. Calling does not work. I have sent an emai today to see what happens. To what benifit do Vodfone have in losing a customer of 10 years and possibly losing 4 more?
  2. Vodafone put a default on my account and I have settle the payment. After months, messing me around. I got this reply Last night. is this a good sign? Please advice me on what to do guys. Thanks Jay
  3. I had an account with vodafone which it has terminated at the end of 2011. recently checked my credit reports I can see the vodafone placed a 'Default' against an account in my name. this is the story behind this contract. I bought this contract in 2009 from vodafone which it suppose to terminated at the end of 2011. my cousin was using this phone. and all the bill were paid regularly with out any delay till one month to the end of the contract. before the contract terminate he received a bill which he believe he did not used it and he refused to pay the extra charges on the bill. now the account is close and the contract is terminated. but vodafone placed 'Default' against the account in my name. Would some kindly help and give me some info how can I solve this. Thank you
  4. Evening All, This is my first post on this forum so I would love to take the opportunity to say thank you in advance for the free help and advice you offer here. Like so many people I find myself feeling hopeless and have no idea who to turn too. Thus I really appreciate that you guys have remained so professional in helping people with issues which in my case is destroying my life. I have recently been declined two times when trying to rent a property closer to where I work as I am currently commuting 140 miles a day and the journey and expense is slowly wearing me down. I felt really surprise being declined tenancy as I am on a reasonable salary and in continious employment for 4 years. I decided therefore to reapply to another property and too my surprise it returned the same result. Out of desperation I decided to become a member of Experian in-order to check my credit report. Too my shock and horror I had a defaulted account from Vodafone, which I wasn’t even aware off. I have read a members thread recently which matched my situation almost exactly, so I am hoping I could get some advice on how to open effective lines of communication with Vodafone to get this matter sorted. Or whether you feel it wouldn’t achieve much to challenge it. Here’s some background information about this defaulted account. It was opened in 2005 and was my first mobile phone contract. No matter how tough it was self-funding through university I always kept my Vodafone account up-to-date without missing a payment. This would remain my only contract until the end of 2009 when I faced severe financial difficulties, through breaking my hand in a work related accident, which in turn caused me not to be paid for 4 months. At this time I had to pay for my flat that I was living in and without a wage my bank account went into negative figures. It wasn’t until Vodafone contacted me for the first time in 5 years that I realised I had missed a direct debit payment due to insufficient funds. I was very apologetic and explainedmy situation in full without leaving out any details. It seemed at the time that Vodafone appreciated the honesty and we discussed ways we could resolve this issue (they cut my phone within 24 hours). I continued to struggle with work disputes and still not receiving a single penny that this issue with Vodafone continued for another two months with me constantly updating Vodafone on my circumstance (not the type to ignore things and wish they would go away). It seemed at the time that myself and Vodafone had gained a good dialogue in terms of agreeing to end the contract (having only 3 months left until it was due to renew) and gradually repaying what’s owed (£94) within Vodafones repayment plan. Things calmed down for the next month with no contact from Vodafone, until out of the blue I received a letter stating that I owed them £304. I questioned why it had increased from £94 - £304, they stated that due to passing my debt to a third party debt collector they would have to charge an interest for the repayment term. I really started to think that Vodafone practices remind me more of a loan shark then a big company. I attempted to dispute this extra charge (£304) with Vodafone but they kept stating that it is out of their hands now and with the third party debt collector, in-which theyrefused to give me the number too. I received a further two or three threatening letters from Vodafone stating that if the late payments wasnt paid immediately they could take legal action against me. Seems communication isn’t a strong suit in Vodafone's skillsets, as the remaining debt had already been assigned to a third party debt collection agency. This information was once again reiterated to Vodafone in the hope the matter wouldn’t be taken further and I would make payment as agreed with the third party. Within a week of this letter the debt agency contacted me to request an additional £90 be paid as a once off set up fee, which worsened my already bad financial situation. Long story short a monthly repayment was agreed and within 3 months the total balance was paid off (dispute over work had been successful). I thought nothing further of the matter and just presumed that this matter had been sorted with no defaults being recorded on my account. Until last week I didn’teven realise I had a default. At this point I really must question why Vodafone are such a successful as a telecommunications company when they treat there long term customers in such a bad way. I am not a benefit cheat or someone that constantly spends what they don’t have, I have always been careful with money, working and paying my taxes. The default date is showing on Experian as 07/11/2009 andcurrent balance shown as ‘Satisfied’ not ‘Settled’ even though the full amount had been paid off. The default balance was £304. This one default feels like a 6 year prison sentence as I cannot even rent a property that’s well within my budget. Please help me and advise me of the best way I can communicate with Vodafone to remove this default as I am certain it was wrongly put in place. Many thanks for taking the time to read through my situation.
  5. I had a contract with Vodafone back in 2009, I did missed two payments mid 2009 and therefore I was dealing with this with Vodafone. I had made payments to Vodafone as requested. My phone was cut off when I was told it would not be and I was continually told different things but different members of the customer support team. I HAD made payments to Vodafone as asked, and then a letter from the debut collectors arrived?????? I called Vodafone and they told me it had already been passed over and they could do nothing about it. Even though I had made payments when we had arranged. Therefore I should never of been passed to the debut collectors. The debut collectors told me to speak to Vodafone and Vodafone told me to speak to they debut collectors, they made attempt to help me with the error they had made. In the end after causing much stress I paid the full amount owed to the debut collectors to be done with the situation and stress. I since then have been refused credit by other network providers, banks and even unable to open a bank account. I recently applied for a loan with whom I bank with and was refused to loan. They provided me with some companies they used to check my credit and advised I get a statuary credit report. On dong so I see a default against me from Communications Supplier from Vodafone Ltd Gemini(i), unsettled. This incorrect information has been sat against my name for 3 years. I am disgusted. I contact Vodafone straight away (17.09.2011 a friday at 14:00) I speak with a lady who on that phone conversation confirms that I owe Vodafone no money!! She informs me that the people who deal with this are not available and she will contact them herself and they will contact me on Monday (10.09.2011). I am informed that this will be corrected and back dated. I hear nothing!!!! I am unable to contact Vodafone as I went into hospital for surgery on the 21.09.2011. As soon as I feel better I contact Vodafone (26.09.201115:00) I am told there was a problem contacting the people that needed to be contacted??? why was I not informed of this??? She sends the e-mails whilst I am on the phone to her and tells me that she will personally contact me as soon as she hears back from the I WILL NOT HAVE TO CONTACT VODAFONE AGAIN!!! I was informed this could take up to 14 days for it to be investigated (why was I previously told it would be sorted straight away?) So today (07.10.2011 16:22) I decided to call vodafone just to check the situation as on Monday it will have been 14 days. I get through to someone and have to re explained the situation (after waiting over 10minutes as usual) she put be on hold to look at my notes. After quite a wait she informs me that a e-mail has been sent by her colleague. I had already informed her of this and again said I waited to know what stage of the process we were currently at? I was put on hold again when she returns she tells me that there is a e-mail stating it has been sorted that it has been back dated and states that it is settled, im advised to wait 24 hours before checking my credit report (24hours from when??? I dont know when the e-mail was received). I then ask her why I was not contacted as soon as this was sorted, as PROMISED (26.09.11)?? She told me Quality assurance could not make out going phone calls??? I told her again that I had been expecting a phone call from her colleague that sent the e-mail? She told me on-one would contact me???? I now ask what Vodafones formal complaints procedure is? She told me they dont have one????? I informed her that it is a legal fact that Vodafone must have a complaints procedure??? I was told a manager would contact me within 24hours. I receive a call this evening from a manager, she asks how she can help. I ask her how to make a formal complaint and what is Vodafones complaints procedure? She informs me they dont have one?????!!!!! At this point she has raised her voice to me! she informs me She can deal with a complaint over the phone, I explain I want to do it in writing for legal reasos. She tell me to go to the website and send a email. she has still not informed me of the complains procedure, none of the staff seem to know what this is????? I seriously and disgusted that I have always been told conflicting information. Firstly I should never of had a default against my name!!! Just late payments and secondly why is it still sat against my name 3years later? I am also concerned that other people this has happened to it seems to of taken months to get this sorted and many pailed attempts??? Please please help Many Thanks Frances
  6. Philharg! I am so glad i have found this thread. I AM IN THE SAME PRADICAMENT AS YOU! Except i agreed and processed a contract with Vodafone. I have been defaulted now 4 times in 2 years, when vodafone's CEO & directors office agreed to remove the default in the first place, i have been re-defaulted 3 times since. Vodafone realised in the first instance that it was their mistake and i was unlawfully and incorrectly defaulted. I was defaulted 2 days ago on a paid and settled account? Its extremely unlawful, damaging and stressful. I am trying to set up a business and cannot get a business phone. I am 20 years of age and my future does not look bright. My credit score has dropped over 100 points or more from the on/off defaulting to my account. This thread has really helped me and i really hope you win your claim!! You deserve it and i know how frustrated you feel. I am new to this thread and will keep you updated with my further action to OFCOM Charlotte
  7. I got a contract with Vodafone in 2007 for a 24 month contract, when the contract expired I called Vodafone to cancel the line, I was asked to go on their website and fill a form, which I did. In July 2010, I realised that Vodafone was still taking the Direct Debit payments from my account which I had closed in November 2009, I called on my number to check the if the line was still active and found out that the number was allocated to someone else. I did not get the time to chase Vodafone for the extra payments they had taken from my account and moved on. I recently got my credit report and saw a default from Vodafone for £84! I run a small business and now I unable to get any credit because Vodafone decided to take 6 months of extra money from me and as a "Thank you" they also put a default on my file. I called Vodafone yesterday and explained everything, the advisor was unable to help and demanded for £84 for the default to be settled and said that the line was never closed because they did not get any email from me. How is this legal? How can Vodafone not cancel the line, take money out for 6 extra months, and put a default without any notification! I recvieve numerous emails from Vodafone to get a new line from them, why couldnt they contact me to let me know that you line is active and you have not paid. I would like to get this Default removed and would be really grateful if someone here can assist me, this default is causing severe difficulties running my business, my credit report is spotless, I have always made all payments on time. Please advise. Thank you, Madiha
