  1. My husband and I have done all we can to settle any debt incurred while he was out of work. Now we have received more than 1 letter from UMS in connection with a 'debt' to HFO Capital Limited, which I can't recall offhand. The letter shows large, purple letters stating: PROPERTY VISIT before saying they have been instructed to organise a visit to our property to collect the full balance due or make arrangements for this 'long-overdue' debt to be repaid as quickly as possible. I've just drafted a CCA letter to send and was just wondering what else I need to do or be aware of. Do I need to keep my house door locked?
  2. Hi guys, serious help needed please for a good friend. Here is the story:- BG have passed an account of a deceased person to UMS, and UMS are now threatening Magistrates Court to break in and fit card meter. I gave BG a reading when I moved in to the house, and have been paying my account on time. All I know is that the deceased's estate was in probate for about 2 years UMS are chasing a combined electric + gas dual fuel account, but they are chasing it in my name as I just happen to have the same surname as the deceased person!! What am I to do? This is driving me mental. I am disabled, with children, and the last thing I need is someone at my door.
  3. Hi All Just a quickie!! Today I received a Doorstep Threatogram from UMS on behalf of BCW collecting a debt owed to Aktiv Kapital. I'm not worried, as I know that all debts I had are now Statute Barred, so I will fire off the SB letter from the library on Monday. I can't remember who the debt was owed to originally, but it's for about £400. I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with UMS? Thanks QB
