  1. Received a letter from a DCA acting on behalf of another DCA claiming that I owe an old credit card debt. Sent the prove it letter as I do not recall having this debt, they've taken best part of 6 weeks to come back to me with a letter that states they can prove the debt and have enclosed the signed credit agreement. Long and short of it, the credit agreement is signed by me and is legit, but it's for a completely different lender?!?! They've tried to obscure the lenders names so that I don't notice, but there is small print showing the lender, so i know it's not correct. My question is, can I get these guys in a big way, as they are basically fraudulently trying to back me in to a corner to pay with false paperwork. What kind of steps should I take next please? Many thanks for any advice given.
  2. Hi. I'll be brief. I have just sold my car and I am trying to cancel my insurance. If i had not sold my car I would have had to pay just another 2 months on the policy. Some idiot drove into me a while ago and though the car was not really damaged I was still quite annoyed and wanted the driver to pay for it somehoe and thought I better tell my insurance company to cover my own back. Silly mistake. I did not put a claim in, it was simply a 'notification' to let them know. I strictly said this. I called them 2 weeks ago to ask about when I would need to cancel my policy as to not have to pay another month, as I knew my car was due to sell anytime. They said there is a claim still open, and I told them that I did not open a claim, the women on the phone said it would be closed anyway and there would be no more to pay. I called today as my car has now sold and wanted to cancel the insurance asap. The women told me there is a case open and if I cancel there is still a closing amount to pay because there is a pending case open. I told her again I did not open a case and she was just giving me spiel about how it's in case the 3rd party puts a claim in! There is no 3rd party because I did not challenge the case. They are trying to screw me over here and it's obvious, all these companies the same! Can someone please advise me, because I do not have money to be burning into thin air. Thanks.
  3. Lodhi finance limited was liquidated in september last year. However the director has previously done the same . He did this with rasul finance limited same address and bought out the debt ledgers via a business named Crawford Business Services . This was not a limited company but was one that had been set up as a transfer vehicle. Once Crawford businees was assigned the ledgers then Lodhi finance Limited bought this business out for £30000 and persued the unpaid bedts that had been mounting up at a rate of 39.9 % per annum. This meant a lot of people lost their homes etc. However it seems that the directors are the same and also the same time spans etc. This time the fsa have had the business shut down. However if there are people around who were mucked up by his [problem] or what ever you would call it. I would seriously urge them to make what he did previously well known.
  4. I visited the car park at Eastbourne B&Q today and saw a UKPC operative arrive and wander round the car park. He stopped at a car that was quite properly parked, wrote out a ticket, placed it on the car windscreen on the drivers side, photographed it, removed it and wandered off to look at other vehicles. So, if you are the owner of a silver hatchback and get a NTK for some parking misdemeanour at around 1pm in the Halfords/B&Q/Mothrcare car park on Lottbridge Rd I will give you a full description of the dishonest person in a UKPC uniform for your evidence when these bandits demand money. Shame it wasnt yesterday, I had my camera on me then
  5. I have just received a debt recovery demand of £160 on behalf of Gemini car parks. Apparently, on 17 October 2016 (two and a half months ago), I parked in a disabled bay in the hospital car park in Romford. This is the first I have heard of it. I had no ticket on the car, and I have had no notice to keeper by post. I have to park here regularly because I work as a doctor in the hospital. It is possible I parked there when I was in a rush to get to my shift and there was no other parking space. I am fed up with this company and their tricks, as are many of my colleagues who have similar experiences. Does anyone have any advice?
  6. Had a letter earlier this week from: Absolute Locate Dear Mr x We require your assistance to verify information on behalf of a client. This is part of an investigation we are currently conducting Please contact ect ect No, I have not responded, and don't intend too. Letter states this registered office is for a Nat Bourner Huddersfeild HD2 1GN CCL 579084 DPLN ZA019311 Having done some homework and looking on this group, they are not who they say they are First off, the CCL 579084 is incorrect, Consumer credit number 579084 is for a Natalie Alice Bunyer not Nat Bourner as stated in this letter (She has married, but not changed the name) She also resides in Surrey not Huddersfeild this information is therefore falsely registered and constitutes either fraud and or deception. these people are in fact: Global Debt Recovery Limited Milbourne House 66-70 Coombe Rd New Malden, Greater London KT3 4QW I am assuming that their client will be: FV-1 INC of 25 CABOT SQUARE, CANARY WHARF, LONDON E14 4QA if you take a look here at: mylawer co uk - restriction of debt collectors They have already broken the following guidelines 1 Those contacting debtors not making clear who they are, who they work for, what their role is, what the purpose of the contact is 2 Not informing the debtor when their case has been passed on to a different debt collector 3 Passing on debtor details to debt management companies without the debtors informed prior consent i.e FV-1 INC will have passed any alleged debt onto Absolute Locate, who in turn will then pass that onto Global Debt Recovery Limited and all without my informed prior consent, add to that Absolute Locate is just a dummy office which IMO amounts to deception. Adding to this, they would’ve already broken the Data Protection Act by passing my details on. I will post more when I receive their first letter. But as you can see from my tone, I am not going to be messed with by idiots, I will be going straight for the jugular Ps. If (big IF) there is a debt, if would’ve to be more than 8 years old or more, so Statue Barred.
  7. Hi all ,Have been paying off a loan debt to 1st Crud every month for the past 4 years. Have had letters from them in the past offering discounts if I pay off the debt and even letters from them thanking me for making regular payments. Now, suddenly, I'm getting threatening letters from LCS Solicitors telling me I have to pay the full amount within 9 days or they will take it to Court!! As I'm a pensioner living on £67 per week they are lucky to have been receiving anything. Can I have suggestions as to my next step please. Do I ignore the letter or write back?? Kind regards Chickenlegs
  8. Waterman stars in the current series alongside Tamzin Outhwaite, Denis Lawson and Nicholas Lyndhurst Dennis Waterman is leaving BBC One crime series New Tricks. Waterman is the last remaining original cast member, having joined the series at its inception in 2003. "Dennis will be filming until the new year, but that will be it," his agent, Derek Webster, told the Mirror, adding that "he misses the old crew". Wall to Wall, producers of the series, thanked Waterman "for all his years of loyal service", adding that he would remain on screen until Autumn 2015. "Viewers won't be saying goodbye to Dennis until Autumn 2015, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy the slightly unorthodox antics of his character Gerry Standing," said a statement from Wall to Wall's Leanne Klein. BBC That's a shame, he is the best one in the show, and it isn't so good as when the original cast were in it.
  9. I recently spoke to Vodaphone about leaving them as my bills at £50 a month were too high for me. of course, their Retentions team were falling over themselves to help keep me. They offered me a new contract at £21 a month with free texts, free calls and alot more data to use. I also asked if they could replace my iphone 4s for an exact same model as part of the deal as I had dropped it in water awhile back and although still working, it occasionally turned itself off and lost sound etc. When my new phone came I was really pleased but it took just over a week to realise that I had hardly any memory. Thats when I realised that i had been tricked into receiving an 8G phone instead of the 'exact replacement' that they had promised. Although I dealt with them via live chat and have full transcripts of the conversation, they will not replace the phone. Looking back at the conversation, each time i asked if the phone would be the same they said yes and dodged around the issue. I didn't realise to check the memory when it came until all of a sudden I took a few pictures and was out of memory. Surely its almost false advertising to not mention any differences when I explicitly asked? Any advice anyone could provide I would be grateful as im apparently now stuck in a 24 month contract Amy
  10. I live in a block of flats which are mostly elderly people. 2 weeks ago somebody pressed the intercom button and said " Hi I am from skype, buzz me in". I never let anybody into the block without first checking out who it is, so I went down to the door to find that he was in fact a charity worker from Scope. I declined to give him my bank details and closed the door. As I started to walk back up the stairs, the bottom door was opened as he had used the same false tactics to gain entry on an 87 year old single lady in one of the other flats. there where two young chaps about 18 years old trying to make there way upstairs, I asked them to leave at which point one said he did not have to leave as he has been invited in by the elderly lady (using the same false Skype terminology to gain false entry). I put my arm out to block their way to the staircase at which point he informed me that if I touch him he would call the police and report me of assault. So I thought I would play him at his own game and blocked the staircase with my body and told him that if he touched me I would report him for assault. At this point, he pushed me in the chest and was verbally abusive. Fortunately my wife came out after hearing the altercation and I told her to phone the police which she did.......sadly I would have been better off calling the local infants school, they would have been more help. The operator had to try 3 different numbers to get anyone to answer( this was a 999 call), and when the police finally answered they said they would send someone out, well they must have got lost as 2 weeks on and we have still heard nothing. I made a complaint to the Scope head office and spoke to a chap called Brendan Delaney who said he would check with the agency that they use to get these collectors "re-trained" and would phone me back later that day or the next day at which point I left him with my phone number. After 2 days and no contact from Scope, I decided to phone them again and when I spoke to Mr. Delaney he said he had tried to phone me back but he must have taken my phone number down wrong . He informed me that the agency had talked to the 2 collectors who has given a totally different story to me, well two 18 year old mates wouldn't tell porkies would they? I don't agree with the bullying or the lying to gain entry to vulnerable people with the intention of extracting bank details and because of this appalling behaviour by so called charity workers who get a rather good percentage of the first years contributions of the Direct Debit details they sign up, we are now not allowing any door to door sellers or Charity collectors on our property.
  11. Hi all I am in the North Herts District Council region and have just had my council tax bill. The total sum is £1140.97. They have calculated it in ten instalments with the first being £114.97 and the balance being another 9 at £114.00. So far so good. According to the new rules issued by the government I have the right to ask for this to be paid in 12 instalments. I therefore e-mailed the council as follows: Please re-issue my council tax bill to show repayments in twelve equal instalments and adjust your billing system to expect payments in twelve rather than ten payments. Today I received the following: Thank you for your email requesting 12 monthly instalments for your council tax. Once we have received your April instalment, I will amend your instalments from May - March and a revised bill will be issued. So on the face of it they are requiring one tenth of the figure to be paid first and I only want to pay one twelfth. Now it is only a small thing but if the government says I can pay equally over the year then I want to pay equally over the year. In short I want to pay £95 in April, not £115. I don’t want to give them £20 until I have to. I wrote this back to them: That is all very well but what am I supposed to pay in April? You seem to be wanting one tenth of the annual amount before spreading the other nine tenths over the remaining eleven months. Is that correct? As I understand it the new regulations allow for equal monthly payments over twelve months. Please clarify your position. Anybody else getting this sort of thing? Anybody got any comments?
  12. I had a Beneficial credit card when I joined BSAC (scuba diving). I cant recall when I took it out but I always paid min amount or more. Of course MBNA bought the card of Beneficial and I found it harder to keep up with payments. All was still fine till late 2011 when my Business and second job collapsed. I was late with a payment and called them to advise that funds sent. MBNA started calling on 30/1 with increasing frequency Anyway after a while it all went tits up and I got a letter from MBNA dated 10 feb 2012 "Following a review today a restriction has been placed on your account" Went to CAB (who took ages to see me) in the meantime lots of phone calls from MBNA got a statement dated 22 feb 2012 £9382.11 following meeting with CAB sent a "unable to pay letter, only deal with me in writing" letter dated 24 feb 2012. Letter had an income and outgoings summary sheet showing I was a pauper now MBNA call on 30th to confirm got my letter "Account on hold" last letter from MBNA was March 13th- thnaks for telling us your new address. I assume this was a reply to my 24th Feb letter. No more phone calls All seemed well but very very quiet 20/11/12 at 20:23 Call from some random number- turns out its Experto Credite...took 4 days of calls to get my act together to force them to give me an address and what its about. Apparently MBNA have sold me to them. To be fair apart from the first call its not been to bad- they say give me your details...I reply who are you whats it about? they say we need details data protection blah blah...I say no idea who you are not prepared to answer that...normally get a goodbye quickly after that. PS They claim to have sent 4 letters....ummmm no letters since 13th March 2012 So what to do thinking 1) send- stop calling and write to me letter 2) send- give me details letter 3) ???? My dad is very distressed by this and wants to get a final offer to make it all disappear. (He is retired and getting on a bit now) I have lurked on forum but more confused then ever at this point. I have a dialogue with National Debtline who have sent me a huge pack of info. I could DRO but would rather not if I can avoid it
  13. got a letter today from Lloyds TSB plc Credit operations PO BOX 66 Rosyth KY11 2WG funny thing the heading shows a faint Lloyds TSB logo top LHC the letter pretends to be from Lloyds bank and states.written in.same format that Wescots use) 'As we haven't been able to agree a suitable repayment plan we've transferrd your Lloyds TSB bank to a debt collection agency Wescot Credit services Ltd'...an even fainter logo bottom RHC and above the logo is Wescots printer code. This letter is pretending that wescots are Lloyds bank. The account is disputed and is with the FOS awaiting decision.
  14. last year i got nailed for due care, £150 fine and £750 costs + £15 victim surcharge (what bloody victim, !!!) due to starting a new buisness i dropped a couple of payments, no court reminder or invite to tell the magistrates why i didnt pay just a snotty letter from MARSTONS. (cheshire courts dont give the option of explaining failure to the courts) well, after a conversation i made a payment of £200 and offered some more in the next couple of weeks, paid again over the phone, then a week later they rang wanting another payment, i offered £100 this time and this was REFUSED (IS IT LEGAL TO REFUSE A PAYMENT?) now we have mr baillif at the door, told him come back next week you can have £xxx, met him and paid. arranged the final payment for 2 weeks after and met him again and paid in full....including the£200 fee for him coming out. now my gripe is the fact that marston refused the £100 payment (woman piut the fone down when i explained it was my belief that they must acceept ANY offer of payment....please correct me if i am wrong) and this is what triggered the £200 collection fee. this i feel is wrong so i complained, the reply was vague but they offered recordings of the phone calls for the sum of £10, so i sent payment off. a few days later i got a transcript, just the initial call, nothing else, and a nice letter explaining i have to give them dates and times of the other calls !!!!!!!! any advice ?
