Rent-to-own company Brighthouse will close 30 of its stores and cut 350 jobs, shrinking its size by around a tenth. The closures around Britain are due to take place over the next two months, with Brighthouse's 3,000 workforce already informed. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-6673493/Rent-firm-Brighthouse-close-30-stores-cut-350-jobs.html?mrn_rm=rta

Carpetright has said it is closing 92 stores - resulting in 300 job losses - as it fights for survival under a sweeping restructure. The beleaguered retailer, which employs 2,700 people in the UK, said 11 of the sites earmarked for closure had already stopped trading. The move follows a review of its property portfolio which found 205 sites were underperforming or on unfavourable lease terms. Carpetright said it hoped to relocate affected staff - and said rent would be slashed on the other 113 struggling sites under the rescue plan. Wilf Walsh, chief executive of Carpetrigh

There's no point in whining about them. We know they're ripping the public for all they can, any way they can. 58% rates, 28 day account periods when almost everyone gets paid monthly nowadays. My wife has a debt of £2096 with Marisota and I don't know how much with Very. (She says she doesn't know the password! I'm resetting it.) And a credit card, and who knows what else hidden. She doesn't work, I have to pay everything. I want to work out a prediction of where this will all go unless dealt with now. I can use spreadsheets but I'm not sure how they calculate the min

Hi there, I hope someone can help me with these cases. When I was young and naive I got offered in the Debenhams and River Island store cards under the premise of extra discounts so I signed up in the stores. I do not remember in any case the mention of PPI, just the offered extra discounts and offers, and even the store-assistant filling the form for me, and putting crosses where to sign, her going to make a phone call and having an answer there and then. A few years later and when I st

It amazes me how the Cargo chain of stores can get away with their price labels. On most furniture and larger items the price shown is not usually the price you will pay as at the bottom of the ticket in small print is the fact that there is a £50 charge for delivery to either store or home. This can increase the cost of the item by a considerable percentage.

Hi, Does Empire Stores come under the umbrella for Redcats or Shop Direct? Would be grateful for any advice, thanks

I am wandering if its is just me or has anybody else noted this. I bought a pack of pg tips (pyramids) for 99p and also bought sugar at the same time. Both are weak in flavour. Where as soon as i have bought the same thing from another retailer taste and flavor are there. Its not just these things. Overall. Has anybody else noticed this ?

It would be very helpful to build up a picture of which parking companies manage which retailers carparks. If you know that XXX supermarket is managed by YYYY parking company, please let us know here. We aren't looking for individual carparks. Presumably each carpark owner only deals with one carpark operator. Thanks

Hi, I recently sent the PPI Questionnaire to Recats about an Empire Stores account I held up to 2005/6. First of all they sent a reply stating that I had the wrong account number after which I sent them a copy of an old statement. Their following response was that since my account had been dormant they have no records and cannot varify my account. If I send them a SAR together with the £10 fee are they obliged to send me information about my account? Would this then give me the right to pursue my claim or should I just send this to the Ombudsman? I have sent other claims to the ombud
