I have a terraced house with a lease that is 999 years old in July this year I received a ground rent demand with additional admin charges totalling £198 I panicked and wasn't sure what to do I thought the extra admin charge was ludicrous and wrote back to them but receive no reply since then I have received additional ground rent demands and on 9 December received a letter from a firm of solicitors Landau and cohen demanding an extra £180 (£150 plus Vat) the ground rent demand is for the period 1/4/11-1/4/2015 which is £6 with fees added on top the bill now stands at £384 the letter is threatening possession of the property I am trying to get a copy of the lease from my solicitor or the land registry company Any help or advice is greatly appreciated
  2. I am also with SIMARC and recently moved house. I notified them online that I'd moved house and got a bill for double the amount owed (£140 - I sent a cheque for the original amount (£70) we owed and they returned it. They said it was not accepted and if we wanted to resolve the matter to send double. I wrote another cheque keeping the returned one, and their letter and that has just been returned also. This has gone on now for months and is stressing me out. Are they not obliged to take the money? What do i do now? Please can you help? kindest regards Karen
  3. Hi, I'm currently in the process of developing the loft of my 3 bed semi-detached house into a bedroom. The dimensions are 17ft by 17ft. I sent the plans to SIMARC and now they are requesting a fee of £360 to view the plans and confirm if I can go ahead or not. The plans have no measurements on and are not complicated by any means. Can anyone help with this and please advise what action to take next...they are a complete nightmare to deal with??? LMT1969:sad:
