  1. I have been looking at process servers for the purposes of serving court papers, what should I be looking at to protect myself from s.cams and the like when trying to buy these type of services ?.
  2. What happened this morning to the CAG website? I've been up since 2ish and it's been down since then... Downtimes were between (vague on the start of it) bot: 02:45 and went live (within 5 minutes of) 04:20 (11/6/2015) Ah well... All's well that ends well!
  3. hi, my wife had a debt from a joint mortgage registered against her at county court for £14k in march 05, paid first payment of £6 on 8,4,05 she made 5 further payments totalling £50 last payment date 27-3-07. I must add the house was repossessed in 1991 yes 1991. since march 07 she hadn't heard anything then, today she received this letter from a,s,h saying they are going to serve some bankruptcy papers on her, any advice would be appreciated
  4. ASH Process Servers has sent an ‘appointment’ letter to an address they are convinced I live at (I don’t). They are acting on behalf of Cabot and want to serve an N39 order to attend court for questioning. The letter also says ‘I have attended at your address without meeting you’. They haven’t. What happens next, as I am not at the address the letter has been sent to? Can they bankrupt me in absentia?
  5. I have a Lenovo Z580 which I brought last year 04/09/2012 brand new and have used it without issues since. On the morning of 21/10/2013, I turned it off before I went to sleep at 4am. Woke up this morning, pressed the power button and nothing. Laptop doesn't turn on or give any indication of anything. Put the battery in, pressed the button, still nothing. Plugged it in with the battery and the battery light comes on and when I press the button it goes off until I release it. I've tried discharging (taking the battery and ac out), pressing the power button a number of times and holding it then leaving it for a bit, but still nothing. I contacted Lenovo direct this morning and they are refusing to look at it without charge as its out of warranty. I then contacted servers direct and they said they won't repair it without charge (basically your out of warranty). I asked to talk to the manager and was told he'll phone me back. I just received the call and he's said the same thing, even when I told him about the sale of goods act (he said it doesn't apply under their terms ) and that I'll take them to a small claims court to which he said 'you do that'. I'm a student whose tight with money at the moment so I don't know how to proceed, any help would be appreciated as I have coursework on this laptop which is due soon.
  6. I have just avoided a bankruptcy petition, but have been charged huge costs. I paid the debt. I was not served the SD by hand or the BP by hand and the process server applied to the court to have them served. I know it is probably too late to do anything, but when I read the process servers statements of truth, they were full of lies. I assume that this is fraud but is there any point in complaining about it now. And if this happens to anybody in future, what action should they take
