Hi In brief i had contractor to fit patio doors and a complete roof on our new extension 4 months ago, only now has he come back to finish the roof after many cancelled visits by him, The work is so bad that building control officer wont sign the roof off. i have contacted the roofer on many occasions and he keeps telling me its my fault because i always moan about his work and that he isn't a roofer (he has his own building business) . unfortunately i paid in full as he was a friend of a friend, I have a rubber roof which is peeling up because he used silicone to stick
  2. Hi I'm hoping this is the correct thread, if not (mods), please move it Need some advice please. I put an add on ratedpeople for someone to fix 2 bay windows as they were leaking. The work was scheduled to be completed in 4 days but the roof is still incomplete 29 days later today. The company erected the roof at a pitch of 13 degrees and as a result all three windows have started leaking. Furthermore they have not removed all their
  4. Hi everyone, I hope you can help me. In brief I contracted roofer to repair leaks. Full known work was not known until scaffolding up. Roofer repaired what he thought was the problem (according to quote). Identified another problem. Said could not do work as he was busy but then backtracked. I agreed to work, said I'd pay half now and the full amount (plus new work) when work completed. He refused and said he would do nothing until full payment received for first job. Next he emails me saying as I have not paid he will contact his solicitor. I receive a claim against me. He did not give me 3
