  4. We took out a tv from Dial a TV in May and made a few monthly payments. My DD got cancelled due to some financial problems we had at the time, they wrote me 3 letters up until August and then I heard nothing. Around 10 days ago there was a knock on my door. It was Dial a TV coming to take the TV away. I advised them that he couldn't take it there and then and that I wanted him to provide me with a court order etc. He said that he would have to go back to the office and report it as stolen to the police and that he would return with the police to take the TV. The next week he returned but I wasn't in (my neighbour told me) and he just said he would put a card through the door. There was nothing there. I then went to my mother in laws and she passed me a letter which had been sent to her. It basically states that I have left the premises with a TV and they need to trace me!!!!! It also mentions that they will be contacting the police and that I will receive a criminal conviction under the 1968 theft act!!! I am annoyed as I have not moved and they know that - I just asked them to come back with court documents! Surely they cannot send letters to relatives like that????? What should I say to them???
  5. I've been living in Australia for over 4 years and recently DCA phoned my in-laws looking for me, obviously regarding some old UK debts. They didn't say what they want, my mother-in-law told them I don't live there and they just said to her to tell me to call them with a reference number. I know what they want, but my in-laws don't and I don't want it to escalate and they start harassing them. How can I put a stop to it? Shall I write to them and tell them I'm living here and to stop contacting relatives as it's illegal? Shall I give them an Australian address to send any correspondence? Thanks for any advice.
  6. hi, just after some advise for a family member who has been suspended from work. she received a letter last week informing her of her suspension from work on full pay,she works in a care home btw. she went for an informal interview regarding the allegations on thursday of last week, the following allegations were that she did not use the correct lifting equipment when necessary, taking a sneaky fag break, saying no,stop it and don't do that when being attacked and punched by male elderly residents in the breasts. dragging residents, not working as a team, and how she talks to the residents. she has worked there for about 7 years and is very upset regarding these allegations having never received any verbal warnings or anything like that from work. any help or advice would be very welcome
