  1. Hi all, Firstly, this is a great forum with very valuable content and discussion! I am a newbie but hope to add my input where i can in the near future! I received a PCN from Brent Council a few days ago. Images (attached) have been captured by a lanewatch CCTV camera - that is actually not listed on their CCTV map (found on their website). Perhaps it is not an 'approved' device? They have 'apparently' captured my vehicle in a box junction, but there are no clear pictures showing the number plate. All of them are very blurry. The last image in black is their only image which shows the number plate (i have scribbled over the letters) but it is completely black and still does not show the vehicle in the box junction. It looks like it may have been taken by another camera, but I cannot be 100% sure. I have requested the video evidence, but I keep getting error messages online. I wanted to know if I even have any grounds for appeal? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks Tam camera.PDF
  2. Is there any way of transferring or copying pictures from a cd That has music playing along side the pictures it's actually a wedding cd and would like if possible to have the pics that are on it. Tills x
  3. My father has received a Parking Charge Notice from Parking Collection Services. The reason been for Parking on Yellow Lines or in Cross-hatched area at a car park in Ipswich. However my Dad has never been to Ipswich and the vehicle pictured isn't his (different make, model, colour and has a different reg number) !!!!! Adress of the alleged parking infraction is The Hub, Ipswich, IP1 2QA Dad is looking at sending the following appeal to them I am appealing as the registered keeper against this unjust and unwarranted parking charge notice. I appeal on the grounds that my vehicle was not parked in the location at time or date specified and that as a result no contract was formed. I ask that you cease and desist from sending me anymore unwarranted communication on this matter other than to confirm acceptance of my appeal. If I receive any further communication otherwise from yourselves or your representatives I shall charge an administration fee of £25 per communication. Do you think this is an adequate reply? We are also looking at complaining to the DVLA that they have released Dad's information to these cowboys, for no reason as its not even his car that they have pictured.
  4. Hi all, This is on behalf of a friend who got married just over a year ago and has had really bad experience from her photographer. The photographer himself / company was a recommendation and all the usual steps were taken in vetting him and his team, seeing is work, talking to a few others etc before the contracts were signed. On the day, he was really unprofessional demanding extra money or his departure nearing the end due to the wedding getting a little delayed - not something a bride wants to hear on the her big day. In contrast, my own wedding with another photographer stayed almost 5 hours after the event for free! It was later found out he was also very loud and shouting to guests in trying to get photographs etc. Fast forward to last Jan, the bride received her first draft of pictures. According to the contract, she had a year to vet them and so in November 2015, they were vetted only to find a huge section of the event was missing. This included all the lunch/dinner photos but more importantly, all the group shots with the bride and groom (50+ images minimum here). What was more distressing is her father in law had passed away soon after the wedding and these images would have been the last ones to have been captured. Despite it being within a year, the photographer tried to use this as an excuse that he no longer has the originals and would not be able to get them back - Something just not done by a good photographer - most keep all their photos as part of their portfolio! He then offered a £100 refund out of "goodwill" His actual response was as follows: I have managed to locate the master back up images in finalised JPG format and I have reviewed and taken on board your comments in respect of the missing group shots. Having looked through everything I hold, I have come to the realisation that there are approx 50-60 group images missing. Unfortunately I am unsure why/when or how these are missing, whether they have been deleted after the completion or when original transferring the images from my camera onto desktop. "Due to the above and complying with my terms of contract, I can agree that I am happy to compensate you the pro-rata fee for the missing images as you have requested. In accordance to the fees paid, the pro-rated compensation is £42.63 however I am happy to round this up to £100.00 as a gesture of goodwill. Breakdown of the £42.65 is £4450.00 fees paid for 5219 pictures handed over x 50 missing images = £42.63" A letter was sent back demanding an explanation on 1. how so many images were "lost" 2. As a professional photographer, surely he would have noticed in the 6 months+ of vetting/sorting, that such as major part of the wedding was missed out? 3. Apparently "some" images mysteriously re-appeared during the back and forth of emails and messages - how? With a concluding line that a part so called goodwill gesture refund is not enough if anything - it does not reflect his integrity at all. His response was simply: We were surprised by the complaint raised considering the images were provided to you approximately 10 months ago and to date you had given no indication of your dissatisfaction. As a result of our services over 5000 images were provided to you which covered the entire occasion. We have looked into and considered your various points raised and I must advise our original offer of £100.00 in respect of the missing images remains. For the reasons set out above we feel that we have performed our contract with you in the terms set out therein and we therefore consider this matter finalised. To enable us to make payment to you please arrange for supporting bank account to be forwarded so that we can arrange an immediate bank transfer to you. So where do they stand? I think they've accepted the photos and memories are lost forever and it was never about the money itself. But now that he has accepted that the photos are lost - why should they not go for a higher amount? Or are they contractually bound by the amount stated? I see two parts - the service was not delivered as per what was discussed and signed off despite the clause that missing images would = x * £x.xx Thanks in advance!
  5. I've had a disagreement with my landlord over penetrative damp coming through a plug socket. Other than this issue there is little else I'm too bothered about with my tenancy. Please take a look at the below images. (If a mod couldn't edit the link to work after checking it that'd be great) hxxp://imgur.com/a/LAma8 I notified my landlord of this after discovering it in my new tenancy (who had already been notified by other tenants previously). I explained I felt it was a serious electrocution hazard and probably a fire hazard. My landlord put it in writing that due to good weather he was busy doing repairs on other houses that had broken fences/gutters. I disagreed with this and felt that despite this being ignored for sometime the presence of a young child meant this should be an emergency repair. Broken fences and gutters can't electrocute people, his priorities are wrong here right? Anyway, after 3 weeks of dilly dallying I eventually put my foot down and said if it were not addressed I would be calling the council. Someone came the next day but I was out (common area in shared house, allowed access without warning I think). All that has occurred is the faceplate being replaced with a flat one without plugs. My landlord tells me the electrician has stated that this is now safe and is ignoring my communication. I have a feeling he's telling me porkies and that this is in fact still dangerous and/or a fire hazard. What should I be doing in this situation? He has told me as a result of the back and forth of me trying to get him to do SOMETHING (prior to the council threat) that I am the worst tenant he has had of 100s in his 17 years as a landlord. I feel like I've been pretty reasonable and just wanted action on a dangerous hazard. I still feel like it's a fire hazard and further action should occur. What should I do here? What are my options? What do the experienced here think? If opinion is against me then fair enough, I'll put my hands up and admit fault and lack of reasonableness. I however feel like this should have been resolved in the kind of timescale that an owner-occupier would have prioritised it, and with a small child regularly in the house I feel like that's a hazard worthy of immediate repair. Yes? No? Right? Wrong? Thoughts. Thank you very much all.

Hey again, I can't figure out how they manage to get these photos, do they use a sensory camera that takes snapshots when movement is sensed, or is there someone watching on the other end the whole time!? Anyway, Parking Eye sent a notice with pictures, can they identify who the driver is that way? I'm happy to just ignore as I have done with other PPC in the past, but was just checking.

Hi, I received a PCN for being parked after the expiry of paid for time and I got there just as the Traffic Officer was doing the pictures etc and thus the evidence they have shows a blurry tax disc close up and me driving off out of the space. On previous occasions they have had pictures of the ticket itself and the car in the space. Do I have any grounds for appeal? Thanks in advance
