  1. Hi All, A petition to regulate Credit Reference Agencies to make them take responsibiity for the rubbish data they hold, please sign and pass around https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/212110/sponsors/new?token=uVL8zQ8UufpmcsmeBQ
  2. Please consider signing this petition. It is a subject very close to my heart and involves the formally free(reciprocal) provision of dialysis for families and individuals when they go abroad on holidays or trips. One of the few pluses of our connections with the EU was the entitlement to foreign health care. In the case of treatment for people with chronic or long-lasting kidney failure, it meant that the destination country could provide dialysis for those families who wanted to go abroad. Dialysis is a mean treatment, it affects the whole family, the treatment has to be taken for between 6 and 8 hours every other day, the patient feels ill all the time. My family had used the service since I became poorly in 1984, my kids benefited from it every year, Young children use the scheme in great numbers, it gives them a break from the monotony of the treatment and some semblance of normality. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/200268 Please have a look

  4. Basically I have put in a complaint against ebay for an item that I sold to clear which was marked for parts or not working and no refunds accepted as ebay are siding with the buyer and told me to start a return (buyer is non uk resident) however I have responded with an appeal against the decision and a formal complaint. Also this has incensed me so much I have decided to put a petition down if anyone wants to sign it to make ebay treat sellers fairly and stop siding with the buyer to prevent [problem]mers (which is what this buyer is). https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/179807/sponsors/4dLn9AywqqgsvIT0cBcs If anyone could sign it hopefully there will be enough to make parliament take notice and start taking ebay to task...
  5. Caroline Lucas created BASIC INCOME EDM 974. Jonathan Reynolds similarly supports basic income. John McDonnell said Labour are considering basic income. Basic income trials are set to take place in Canada, Finland, and Holland. The time is ripe for UK Parliament to debate EDM 974 BASIC INCOME. That this House notes the growing crisis of low pay and precarity in a labour market increasingly characterised by casualised forms of employment that offer little in the way of pay, predictable hours or long-term security; further notes the evident inability of our bureaucratically costly social security system, with its dependence on means-testing and often arbitrary sanctions, to provide an adequate income floor; believes that a Basic Income, an unconditional, non-withdrawable income paid to everyone, has the potential to offer genuine social security to all while boosting entrepreneurialism and the creation of small businesses; Much more on the link. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/128234 And of course a thread open for those that perhaps do not know to much about Basic Income. Worth a read,in my view. 6. We have a meat shop, we use to buy Meat from a big supplier. Their quality of meat gradually became so bad that we had to refuse four deliveries as the restaurants we supply it to won't accept it. Later on in a month's time the big supplier went into administration. We then realised why they weren't much bothered about their quality anymore. Anyways, asministrators came in and they dug out that those four deliveries which were refused by us are actually invoiced and outstanding. We received a notice to pay from them on which we responded telling them that these deliveries were refused with supplier's consent and they knew it has been refused. Total amount was aprox £7800. Moreover, we also mentioned that there is around £900 also outstanding on previous returned items due to bad quality in last months which we still seek to claim. Liquidators replied that invoices are outstanding as they have proof of delivery but they can offer a settlement in aprox £5000 if we pay in next 2 days otherwise they will seek legal action. We didn't accept it. After a week of that, and after adding their fees to the total, they sent a ' statutory demand under s.123 (I)(a) and s.222 (I)(a) of the solvency act 1986 ' to wind up our company if we didn't pay in full in 21 days otherwise they will proceed through court. We never had any written credit or any other agreement with them. On their notices they are mentioning invoice agreement and all correspondence is addressed to business name. I would like to know where do I stand at this situation and what could happen. I don't mind going to court to defend myself and also don't want to spend any money on hiring a solicitor due to their costs as it's not my fault. I do not have any experience of such things and need serious help here. I hope some one can. I have only 10 days left to finish the 21 days period as it all happened when i was away on easter holidays. Many thanks for reading.
  7. I'm not sure of the 'power or strength' of this petition compared with HM Parliament ones, but I suppose every little helps. https://www.change.org/p/rt-hon-david-cameron-mp-challenge-dvla-lost-entitlements-on-licence-renewals?recruiter=332868623&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_term=mob-xs-share_petition-reason_msg I disagree with his word 'popular' describing the problem. but can guess what was meant.
  8. Government will prosecute those who fail to repay their student loans on time, warns Jo Johnson The Government has warned it will prosecute graduates from across the UK and overseas who fail to pay their student loans back on time as part of a new strategy. In a statement from Minister for Universities Jo Johnson to the House of Commons, the politician said the new plans were needed to ensure the repayment system remains “fair, robust, and efficient” as the higher education system sees more people gain entry than ever before, due to a cap-lift on numbers. New plans come into place as the higher education system looks set to take on more students than ever before http://www.independent.co.uk/student/news/government-will-prosecute-those-who-fail-to-repay-their-student-loans-on-time-warns-jo-johnson-a6869221.html Sign this petition to ask the UK Government not to make student debt a criminal offense https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/121888 Its all over the news papers/websites, not law yet but in legislation stage - partner countries (EU and AU) supply tax details and then UK prosecutes... don't ask me how The US have been sending in armed (police) thugs to get debtors to sign repayment plans

  12. This E-Petition is requesting "Let GP's Do Fit For Work Assessments Instead of ATOS" If this were to happen it would mean that GP's who know about their patients ailments could complete these assessments using the medical knowledge and history that they have and know about. This would also save the cost of utilising companies like ATOS who have been proven to not be fit for purpose, it would stop the misery caused to sick and disabled people who have their benefits stopped while waiting appeals and of course the cost of these appeals. I feel sure this would be much more cost effective and therefore save taxpayers money. If you wish to sign please go to this link :: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/54430 Thank you in advance to anyone who signs.
  13. Do you RENT your home, If so, then you will know that good landlords are very very hard to find, Getting a repair done can be very difficult, or have you rented from a landlord who would suit the name slumlord more. There is currently no compulsory registration scheme for landlords or letting agents, I am petitioning the government to sort this out, Compulsory registration will help improve the industry, keep tenants safe from rogue landlords, and improve the quality of properties for rent. Please click the LINK below and sign this petition, You never know, it may help to improve your housing situation Tenants have to go through extensive vetting systems!! but what do landlords have to do, nothing, how do you know that your deposit is safe. This system i propose will ensure all landlords are solvent, mortgages are up to date, deposits are securely held, AND that Letting agents and landlords alike act in a responsible manor, This is something that has been over looked for too long, So help weed the crooks out of the system Please sign the petition below, all you have to do is follow the link. Please note, simply LIKING this post will have no input, you MUST click the link below please share this post http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/69580

  15. Hello Wondering if anyone can assist. A few weeks ago, I received a petition for divorce from my soon to be ex. I put it aside thinking I had about 28 days to acknowledge it as I was and am still in the middle of arranging moving home. Unfortunately, now I've lost the forms I was sent AND I was told I was required to acknowlede to the court within 7 days of receiving the petition. Any ideas on what I can/should do asap please? Thanks in advance.
  16. I'll try to keep this simple and to the point. A stat demand was served and a hearing set to have the application to set aside heard. I withdrew the application to set aside on the grounds that a settlement was reached. Fast forward and payments on the settlement agreement have stopped on my end as the deliverable from the petitioners can physically be no longer provided. Namely they are no longer authorised to sell stock as specified in the settlement agreement and the forms for transfer have been returned by the company. I don't see in which world it would be just for me to pay for something that I'm not going to receive. They have issued a bankruptcy petition for the breach of the settlement agreement and I have until Tuesday to file a 6.19. Does this form need to be accompanied by a witness statement and hand delivered to the court or can I fax/email? Is the 6.19 even the right thing to do here? Thanks in advance.
  17. Saw this elsewhere and thought I'd bring it over. "I am writing this post here in case it is relevant to any people in the UK especially those suffering chronic health conditions. I want to raise awareness of potential spending cuts the UK government may make to the welfare budget. My friends and I have started a petition on change.org asking the UK conservative government /DWP not to abolish national insurance contribution based ESA and JSA welfare benefits. ESA is employment support allowance benefit paid to individuals if they become ill unable to work for few weeks /months and JSA is job seekers allowance paid to unemployed job seekers. Leaked documents mention these benefits may be abolished as part of the government's manifesto to cut 12bn from welfare spending. Link to article mentioning abolition http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/mar/27/conservatives-face-pressure-to-come-clean-on-12bn-benefit-cuts Cuts to these benefits would impact on otherwise hard working families especially people with chronic relapsing conditions who experience intermittent health related periods when they cannot work. Cuts would dramatically alter the financial benefits available for people in work who have paid dutifully national insurance contributions If anyone would like to sign our petition the link to it is https://www.change.org/p/dwp-stop-the-scrapping-of-contributory-based-esa-jsa I met my MP Geoffrey Robinson last week concerned about possible cuts to contributory based esa and jsa benefits. My MP suggested I start a petition that he could present to parliament. Thank you in advance for reading this post"

  19. Hi everyone. Please sign this petition, #share it, #retweet it everywhere. I appreciate for a petition to be valid, you need to give your personal details to be counted, but that should remain restricted viewing. This is a properly set up Govt. E-Petition to try to get them to look at the Law Of Property Act, where Debt purchasing relies upon this loophole to take your data, your unsecured debts, pay a small price for the info and chase you for the full amount, it is pure greed and the very fact it CAN stand up in a courtroom, assuming they have enough data (re. your debt/paperwork etc) and they CAN take your homes and property, it is about time this was stopped. Can't guarantee this will succeed...it needs 100,000 valid and true signatures to get this to be looked at. It has been tried before and if people won't sign, it won't go anywhere....but hey, let's try again! Some of you will likely prefer your debts to be bought cheap by these greedy grabbing DCAs, but the point is, they are heavy handed, they make people more stressed, more ill and the original banks/creditors as yet don't maliciously go after people's homes simply because they can. Obviously if there is a CCJ and that is not paid, there is that chance of losing home, property, becoming bankrupt, but we need to take away the one Law or loophole that makes it so easy for debt buying companies to manipulate say 900% profit or more (where applicable), if they succeed, but more so we need to STOP them bullying people that are in a financial mess and already unable to cope with the pressure, let alone the harassment. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/60324
  20. Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help.... I moved out of my property some 4 years ago but rented it out and I'm now selling it. As part of the buyers checks, and my solicitors checks, I apparently have a bankruptcy petition against me and my solicitors want to know if this has been discharged. "We have noted on the Office Copies of the above property that there is a Bankcruptcy Notice dated 23 May 2012. Please can you provide us with more information of this notice and confirm details of who the trustee in bankruptcy is. Please can you also confirm if you have now been discharged from this notice?" I know nothing about this at all. I'm not bankrupt on the Insolvency Register and I've not been personally served anything, I wasn't living at that address (although I do own it). I don't know what this means! Am I bankrupt?? How do I get rid of this petition so I can sell the property? Help!
  21. If you are on twitter, facebook etc please pass this link on to get as many signatures as possible. https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/david-cameron-and-theresa-may-establish-a-national-inquiry-into-allegations-of-organised-child-abuse Hopefully if enough people get behind this, the government will agree to hold some form of inquiry, perhaps on the same basis as the recent one on Hillsborough, which was independent and not Judge led.

  23. 1) Is there any objection I can make to the petition which has been automatically served after failure of IVA? The IVA has failed in part because I was not made aware that funds had to be introduced at the start to cover bankruptcy. Although this was an amendment by HMRC the IP never mentioned it and never made me aware of the amount to be introduced.2) Can the petition hearing be adjourned / delayed to allow me time to contact the creditors and attempt to make a proposal?
  24. Hi, I work in a large organisation of 500 employees where management is planning to reduce activity in our section and half the work force of our section from 20 members to 10. As a result, someone has decided to organise a petition of all 500 of the workers in the organisation asking management for an end to job losses and instead to negotiate an alternative plan with our section. I have argued that anybody who signs such a petition could find themselves in trouble with management but other people seem to think that any direct consequences such as dismissal or maltreatment would be illegal. I would be interested for any thoughts on this matter!
  25. I have just found this forum (and have to say it looks really good and helpful). I have a bankruptcy petition scheduled for monday 17th at my local court and want to know if I have any chance at all in defending it. The basic story: Had a business was doing well even though it was started after the crash we grew very quickly (to quickly) and eventually cash flow got tricky so signed a personal guarantee on a large over draft with HSBC, anyway long story short as possible. Stress of running the business made me ill, ended up in hospital with suspected heart attack (never had more than a day a year off sick in my life so am not one for being ill) so got over that went back to running the coompany but it was getting harder to manage and I didnt want to make myself ill (I have young children) so decided enough was enough and got myself a full time "normal" job and tried to manage the comapny part time but it was never going to work so sought advice and was advised voluntary liquidation which I took as I couldnt take any more nor could my family. Liquidators come in take my stock £50-70k at retail and I sign a guarantee for their fees and expenses. They sell said stock at auction for circa £4k just enough to cover thier solicitor fees and auctioneer fees. So I am left with a £28k overdraft to clear and thier fees of £7k. I sort the £28k with a charge on my property (which is in negative equity anyway so they wont get anything if a sale is forced) and I get a stat demand from liquidators for their fees but I now dont have a penny to pay them so send all my details in to them offering £700 lump sum to clear it (10p in the pound much better than they got for my business) or £35/month for a slong as it took but they never replied then just been hit with a bankruptcy petition. I dotn want to be made bankrupt as it gets complex with the house as still in my name and my ex wifes and dont want her anywhere near us as she made my life a living hell for years and I have always paid the mortgage and am up to date with all my bills with no arrears just no surplus cash and no credit raiting to raise the £7k the liquidators want from me. Had they of looked into the company surely a CVA would of been better suited as I could of just used the stock (business was 95% online sales anyway) and traded in the evenings until the stock was gone to pay all the creditors and am pretty sure they would of all got thier money back unlike what the liquidators did. I found out that nearly a year after they started the liquidation they still hadnt picked up all my VAT and PAYE records and invoices from the company accountant so dont even know how they managed to get it all sorted without that paperwork for so long. Do I have a defence or not do you think? I have offered a payment plan but still to hear if it will be accepted. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
