  1. Hi I need some help from you experts out there. A few months ago i received a letter from Lowell saying i had an outstanding debt in excess of £600 on a mobile contract. I sent them a letter asking for proof of debt after several months i have received a statement of account which runs from Oct 2010 to may 2014. The final balance on the account shows £400 not £600 with the last payment in Jan 2014. I do not believe i actually owe this money i changed my phone in the EE shop in late October 2013 as i was working abroad at the time and they got me a deal where i got inclusive minutes and it looks like they did not do the upgrade properly. I still have my contact with EE and it is upto date. What can i do to contest this ? All help gratefully received
  2. It's only a niggle but it's really niggling me. I have (had) and account with Orange many years ago where I paid £99 up front for a basic Nokia phone and then got billed at contract rates only for calls made. It was paid by DD so never a problem, never a missed payment. On my Noddle report there are number codes 2013 7 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2012 6 0 1 0 43 0 12 2 0 6 Everything is then at zero from Feb 2013 to the present day. Does anyone know what these numbers mean?

Hi , wonder if anyone can help, Lowells are threatening legal action , i.e having assessed our options, we intend to take legal action to recover this debt if you do not contact us to agree a repayment plan. Some background phone and iPads taken out on contract in early 2012, payments dropped off late dec 2012 due to losing job, then had a major accident in early 2013 , was off immobilised/unable to walk for 11 months, in the meantime I offered and was paying orange £10 per month, which by 2014 had stopped, no money, yep buried head in sand, just before christmas 2016 , had the letter that lowells had bought the debt ...they have sent various letters over the last 10 weeks , the last one being i.e having assessed our options, we intend to take legal action to recover this debt if you do not contact us to agree a repayment plan. Any ideas on how to move forward. ..also the sum is quite large around the 2k mark. ..I acknowledge i owe , but not that much... I do not have that kind of money. ..nowhere near.. .can anyone suggest best way forward... don't want a cjj , was thinking of offering a payment of £5 per month, but want a breakdown of charges...
  4. sat morn wife got letter from capquest regarding following account purchased from orange account no .,.,.,.,.,.....,,,,,, despite our attempts to contact you to bring the account to satisfactory conclusion,we have not been able to reach an agreement. we ask that you call us within 14 days on their number should no contact be forthcoming we may consider an escalation oin collection activity to recover the balance outstanding. there are still repayments options available to you provided you engage with us question leave alone as look as a standard robot letter or what
  5. Hi, Could I ask for some advice on how we should handle the following situation, that has recently cropped up. This problem started we believe way back in 2011, we went to the car phone warehouse to change a telephone that we had on contract with Orange. We were told that since Orange no longer supplied mobile phone services the mobile would be registered with EE the new Orange provider. We changed the telephone over and the assistant at car phone warehouse confirmed with Orange/EE that the old contract was now cancelled. Then some months later Orange sent us a bill for 3 months connection charges for the old telephone, we spoke to Orange a few times by telephone and they finally agreed to sort the account out and remove the charge since we no longer had that telephone. We then moved address, although both me and my partner still had EE phones so EE had full information of all of the addresses we had occupied. Now in 2017 my partner attempted to get a small item on credit and were shocked to find out that she had some sort of issue on her credit file, when we look at her credit record on a free credit database service, we were shocked to see that Orange had somehow and for some reason registered a debt of £125 against my partner causing issues on getting credit. we may need to get a small mortgage soon so we were really concerned about this. we have called EE and they quickly passed us over to Orange (although they are supposed to be the same company we thought) The Orange contact we were given was an email only service. The initial response we got back from them once we had highlighted it was that they could not find anything on their system to do with our account. Also EE had said they could not see anything in their records pertaining to this debt. We emailed Orange a second time and told them to look harder since it appeared that Clear score had something registered against my partner for, a mobile phone issue. after taking her d.o.b etc they looked again and this time they found something but could not be specific about when it occurred? At first they telephoned my partner and said said the issue occurred in 2011, at an address which we did live at in 2011, then when she advised them that we did not owe the money since it was from an old mobile that had been transferred by them to EE, and that the debt should have expired anyway since it was 6 years ago. The person at Orange then emailed her to inform her that the issue occurred in 2014 (he had appeared to change his mind?) but that the address it occurred at was the old address (we did not reside at this address in 2014). they advised us that they could do nothing about the issue and that we would have to speak to EE customer service, we again spoke to EE customer service who again told us they could do nothing since it was with Orange Credit team ?? We emailed the Orange credit team yet again and they said that the debt had been passed to a DCA, and asked us if we had received any letters from said DCA (Arrow Global Limited). We advised EE that we were extremely disappointed and that we want them to escalate it, we have heard nothing yet and now we are considering what actions to take moving forward. We have not communicated with the DCA since we have no contract with them and don't want to put ourselves in any situation that means we are in contract with them. Could anyone give us some advice on how we could/should proceed with this. Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks, John.
  6. today received a letter from lowells Solicitors regarding an outstanding debt to orange I received on prior to Xmas and asked them to supply me with the following Contract/Agreement Statement of Account showing details and dates of debits and credits including payments, interest and charges to the account and the current amount outstanding; Copy of Default notice, copy of formal demand; and where the debt has been sold, copies of letters from original creditor stating that, plus letters from current creditor stating that the reply is as follow , As this is a telecommunication account it is not regulated under the consumer credit act1974 therefore the original creditor is not obliged to provide you with a copy of the agreement. The default notice would have been sent to your address at the revelant time .We have requested a copy of the account statment and will forward this to you upon receipt . We can confirm that the account was taken out on sept 2008 with mobile number -------------- and defaulted on the 15 oct 2013 due to non payment . the last payment was made on March 4th 2013 for the amount of £220.83 .Please contact us with suitable repayment plan within 14 days to confirm your prefered method of payment and date from the options located on reverse of this letter .if no response is received a claim form may be issued incurring costs .If you do not respond to the claim we may apply for a CCJ which could impact any future credit applications mortgages or even some employment while it remains unsatified on your credit file. Questions are as follows is there a lawfull request to obtain the original agreement or are they allowed not to disclose this. Also I do not recall ever paying this amount so I will be checking with my bank to verify this . Am I allowed to have the requested items I did ask for. Keep up the good work and I intend to make a donation come payday regardless of the outcome of my case. Pleasantries aside, I've got a problem with Lowlife solicitors. They've issued a County Court claim against my mother for an old junk debt with Orange that they've acquired. I've filled out the MCOL forms as per instructions with the intention of defending all claims and completed the initial questions above. Apologies if some of the information is vague/incomplete as my dear old mother has forgotten some of the relevant information.

  9. Hi I have had an ongoing issue with Orange now EE for around 2 years. It all started with them charging for stuff that was included in my contract package, I'd ring them and they would wipe it off, however the following month it would appear again and the deficit got more and more so in the end I chose to leave. They have now been hounding me for £214 that I do not owe, I sent them the sar etc and received nothing of what I asked for but a bill showing that they had -214 off my bill so my balance on the account was now zero. Please see attached picture The default on my credit report states £222 which is wrong. I have messaged them and phoned them and they refuse to do anything about it. Can they stI'll default me on a zero balance? I sent a SAR off and received a shed load of bills nothing else, they told me no phone calls were recorded. Surely they cannot do this?, please someone help me Regards Sarah

I only remember I wanted to cancel the contract – and discussed with them – but cant remember why or what happended? What was the date of your last payment? August 2011 I think Was there a dispute with the original creditor that remains unresolved? Only in trying to cancel the contract – I seem to recall I wanted to cancel and had to wait 1 month until the year was up. Did you communicate any financial problems to the original creditor and make any attempt to enter into a debt management plan? NO Do I need to request a SAR from orange and a CPR31.14 FROM Arrow? In the meantime how would I prepare my defence?
  11. Hi all wondering if anyone could shed some guidance please? In 2009 I took out a mobile phone contract with Orange. I paid my bills as normal, however in 2010 may/june (iirc). I went on holiday to Turkey for 2 weeks. I used my phone whilst i was abroad for calls only maybe a touch of data (wifi was free). When my next bill came in, it was for £1190ish. I immediately rang orange, complained and demanded a full breakdown. I was told that the bill was for a few calls, txts and alot of data. I was adamant that there was no way i had used that amount of data and requested a full breakdown of data usage. I was told that it was impossible for them to do and my bill is my bill. I left on the note that they can stick my contract and I shall not be paying. Soon after, (early 2010 iirc) I received a letter from Arrow Global saying they had taken over the debt. I immediately rang them and informed them of what had happened and that i wouldnt be paying until I had a full breakdown. Ive had numerous letters etc from Arrow over the years and ignored them. Then in July 2016 i received a county court claim form from Arrow, I filled the forms in and sent them off to the court explaining etc. I have just returned from a 2 week holiday expecting a court date only to be met by a CCJ. I rang the court this morning to be told that they had not received my forms and as such the CCJ was issued. What options do I now have? I think I need a N244 and set aside would this be the best route? Also where do you think I stand with regards to the debt? Hi To all . new here and seeking some advice , I have received a claim form and a letter on Friday relating to an old orange mobile debt from 2011 which has been banded about between several debt collectors over time . I am just asking advice and what is the best way to go forward with this. I do not have any old paperwork so I have no records of whether I received default ect . regards
  13. Hi all, Need some help please. Have received a summons from the Bulk Handling Centre for an old Orange Mobile Debt - About 4 years old roughly. Date of Issue: 06/04/16 - Acknowledged - 08/04/16 Details of claim; Claimant: Lowell Portfolio Ltd Defendant myself POC (1) - The defendant entered into an agreement with Orange under account reference xxxxxxxx ("the agreement"). (2) - The defendant failed to maintain the required payments and a default notice was served and not complied with. (3) - The agreement was later assigned to the Claimant on 19/06/2014 and notice given to the Defendant. (4) - Despite repeated requests for payment the sum of £176.54 remains due and outstanding. And the Claimant claims; (a) The said sum of £176.54 (b) Interest pursuant to s69 County Courts Act 1984 at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of assignment to the date of issue, accruing at a daily rate of £0.039, but limited to one year, being £14.12 © Costs I have acknowledged the Service online with MCOL. I'm no expert here but I've been reading through other threads and it seems the wording is incorrect on the claim form, being it was a Contract for Services rather than an Agreement. Am I still able to send a CPR Request in order to get their ownership of said debt? Can someone please help me a little. I'm drafting documents as I type this but running into a little blank moment from reading so many comments.
  14. Please could someone offer help on this? My wife has just obtained a copy of her credit report and there is a default on there for £111 from Orange/EE from 2013. At this time she had a contract with Orange which then went to EE. In October 2013 she was offered an upgrade by EE which she accepted. In 2015 she upgraded again with EE. She still has the same account number as the orange account and is still with them. We don't why this default is on there as EE processed the upgrade from Orange and they have never mentioned anything since and they even upgraded her again in 2015! I would of thought they wouldn't have accepted her upgrade if she still owed them money. Is there a EE rep on here to get this sorted somehow?
  15. Hi My Name is Greg I took out Broadband with Orange. The router was duly delivered and I plugged everything in and it never worked. I contacted Orange with great difficulty and they could not fix the problem. I contacted them on at least on 10 occasions and they said the same thing it should be working. I duly cancelled my direct debit and complained again to Orange but still no joy. I had a debt letter sent to me and felt this was a bit harsh as I had never had the Broadband working. I have paid the debt of £204.77 and have found out this has appeared on my credit history. I am applying for a Mortgage and how do I go about getting this off my records. Please help. Thanks Greg
  16. Hi. I have and issue with EE/Orange. Firstly, I recently remembered that around 2007/08 I was charged 'Orange Care' on my statements and never really knew what it was. I checked this out and found that it was some form of insurance that I had never asked for. I took a look in my attic and found that I only have two statements - one from September 2007 and one from January 2008. I think I was paying it for many months before and after this. I have contacted EE to ask for statements but they have been extremely unhelpful, stating that they can supply recent statements for £3 a time for the last 24 months but for statements prior to 24 months ago 'request a statement of account which will show what your bill amount has been and the amount you have paid to coincide with payment dates'. Please can I ask is there anything I can do? I seem to remember years ago when people were reclaiming their bank charges that if they only had a few statements, they could estimate the other charges?   17. Good morning all... I checked my credit files this week, and was rather shocked to see a default registered by Orange, last year for £65. Background is this: I have been an Orange customer for over 15 years, and towards the end of 2014 my handset stopped working and I decided it was time to upgrade and get a new one. Simple, or so I thought. I called Orange from my handset, and was quickly upgraded to a new contract by the representative who told me that my new contract was with EE but that it was all the same company and nothing would change. My account was not in arrears. The EE account has been running since, no arrears, no notification of outstanding arrears, until last week when I discovered the default and outstanding balance. I called 150 from my handset, and was transferred to a call centre in India where I was told that I had not paid my final Orange bill, which was strange as I can't remember the phone representative mentioning anything about it when I upgraded and I haven't received a bill or reminder about it and of course I am still an EE customer, they know exactly where I live and I still have the same number. I asked to speak to a manager, was kept waiting for 40 minutes, then hung up on and had to repeat the same process again. I finally got through to someone who told me it was my fault, they had apparently sent me my final Orange bill with an amount for the first months EE bill and insurance. This is even stranger; surely I would've been cut off if I hadn't paid my EE bill, and this is beside the fact that I was told nothing would change when I upgraded my phone? Orange told me I need to pay the DCA, and there is nothing they can do. I have received no correspondence from any DCA. Reading around other threads it doesn't look good for having the default removed, and I am so frustrated, as my credit file would be clean at the end of the year and I was looking to get a mortgage. It doesn't seem right that Orange/EE should be able to do this, and I certainly would not have upgraded my contract with them had I known, but understanding that mobile agreements are not bounded by the CCA I'm not sure how to challenge it?
  18. Hi people I have a Orange/EE account listed on all my credit files with a balance of £489. I can see the account started in 06/2002 and is still marked as active nearly 14 years later. It also states it is FCS disconnected whatever that means! My problem is that i do not ever remember having a contract with Orange. I remember i was at University at that point and used to use a BT celnet sim card. Ive read something about debt being statute barred, dose this account qualify as statute barred? How do i go about sorting this out when i know nothing about it? Any help would be appreciated
  19. Hi I was wondering if anyone can help regards to a court claim form I have received today from Aplins, via Northampton court. The PoC is extremely vague and goes something like this. The claim is for call and service charges due and unpaid as at today's date under a network services contract made between the claimant and the defendant. The debt is allegedly for an outstanding orange bill. I used to have an orange mobile to which the contract ended in April or May this year, I called and noticed them to terminate at the end of the agreement period and was advised to call back within a month should I change my mind, I didn't and they failed to terminate my contract with them, still allowing the phone to be in service, I didn't use the phone as I had a new contract, they simply allowed it to continue, I only knew this because a friend advised me my old number was still active. They then cut off the phone roughly in November ?. Or October. I don't know I hadn't used it. I then recieved a letter from the court, this one today. Firstly I shall acknowledge the documents and intend to defend, do I now send a CRP 31.14 ? As the PoC are vague what wouldn't need to ask for? The bill was only ever around £39 and the whole amount is for £287.54. Any help is appreciated Thanks in advance
  20. Orange is facing a revolt from hundreds of customers furious at the phone giant's decision to axe a promise of free broadband midway through their contracts. The mobile operator announced in August it would cut free home broadband for up to 90,000 mobile customers unless they fork out an extra £160.50 a year for a landline. Now many who signed up to the expensive, lengthy deal to qualify for the perk are fighting back with threats of legal action — and forcing the company to change its mind.   21. Hi guys, I found your web page and noticed you are really good at helping people in tricky situations. I received a claim form from Northampton county court via aplins regarding my old orange contract. (issue date 24/9/14) Claimant, Orange Personal Service Adress for sending docs and payments: aplins Defendant: me PoC: claim is for call and service charges due and unpaid as at todays date under a network services made between the claimant and the department. Amt claimed: £109.59 Court Fee: £25 Solicitors costs: £50 Amt total £184.59 Background: I cancelled my contract over the phone (in april) and also asked to have my number ported. Orange sent me two letters notifying me of an outstanding bill of £99.63 and since passed my details on to a DCA. unfortunately I lost track of my mail as I work really long hours and I'm hardly home! They never called me to talk about this but they have been texting and are still texting about purchasing their services. Having received this claim form I called orange and they say they cant deal with me, that I have to deal with the DCA (which I assume . This form is asking for £184.59??? I just want to pay the £99.63 which I apparently owe orange....what do I do? From what I've read so far on similar posts I have 12 days from today to respond. I suffer from anxiety and depression, this is destroying me mentally, I really need your help!
  22. Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice please... I have recently checked my credit file on Noddle after being turned down for a loan and noticed that Orange c/o Lowell Telecommunications have registered a default on August 2014 for £25.77. I upgraded my phone in January 2014 with Orange. I stayed with the same network but Orange has now been taken over by EE so my contract is now with them. I moved house in May 2014 and during that time to now, I have received no correspondence from Orange/EE regarding an outstanding amount even though they have my new address. When I called Orange collections department, they advised me that the debt was for the final payment on my old Orange contract, even though I had made 2 separate payments on the last month of my contract to bring the account up to date before my new contract started. At no point have Orange tried to contact me either by post, phone or email even though my mobile number and email address have remained the same. I have written to Lowell Telecommunications and they have told me that they cannot remove a default from a credit file, only Orange have that authority even though they have bought the debt from Orange. I called Orange and they told me that the debt has been sold to Lowell Telecommunications so it is no longer their responsibility. I feel like I have exhausted all options to get this resolved. I need to apply for a re-mortgage next year and this default is really badly affecting my credit score so I'm going to have no chance unless I can get it removed. Does anyone have any idea where I can go from here to get this default removed? Many thanks in advance for your help! J
  23. Hi This is my first post, so hopefully I am doing this right. In January 2012 I took out a mobile phone contract with Orange. The monthly bill was £10.50 per month, paid every month by direct debit and no missed payments. The Contract was for 24 months. Due to a fall in income, I decided to ask Orange for a mobile dongle and end my contract for home internet with Sky Digital. This was fine and no problems with Sky. Because the dongle was really good, I decided to ask Orange to install home broadband for me. They agreed and this was set up on June 16 2012. However, the internet did not work, so I rang them and they sent an engineer. He spent a long time messing about with it, assuring me that it was fixed and would be working within 2 hours. This never happened I rang Orange again to cancel my home broadband service, explaining that it would not work. They tested the line and said nothing was wrong with the line, but I had not internet. Eventually, after been passed to several different people, it was agreed to cancel my internet. Cancellation according to the contract was to be done prior to the internet being set up. However, as they did not set it up propertly and it did not work, it was agreed that I would not have to pay any cancellation charges and I cancelled my direct debit. I contacted Sky to take over my internet from Orange, explaining that the internet had never worked. Sky had no problem setting up within a couple of days, explaining to me that they still had the line (further proof that Orange could not possibly have supplied me with home broadband services as Sky still had the line, albeit suspended). I telephoned to pay my normal mobile phone bill, shocked to find out that I had a huge amount to pay, this was for installation of my broadband that I didn't recieve and cancellation charges that I was told I would not have to pay since I never received the service. I asked if I could pay my mobile phone, but they had bunched all the accounts together and so would not accept the payment on its own. Obviously, I did not pay as I did not owe that amount. I was told by the customer advisor they would rebill me. In the meantime the suspended my mobile phone access due to there being this balance for my internet on the account. I rang to complain, pointing out once again that I never received the services for my broadband , the engineer had failed to install it and therefore I did not owe them any money other than my mobile phone charges that there was not dispute about. They promised to look into it and agreed that I should not be pay for internet I never received. I have the direct debit on my statement in July 2016 that I paid to Sky for my services, again showing that Sky had been able to set up my internet immediately because they still had the line and that Orange never had my telephone line and so could not have supplied me with internet services. At the end of August I received a demand for payment of my account, for the internet sevices not received, my mobile phone payments (now in arrears because they would not accept payment for this alone). I rang again, complaining about the bill, they said they would look into it and I again asked if I could pay my mobile phone contract, but they said they needed the full amount on the account and couldn't seperate them out. The following month, I recieved a letter stating that my mobile phone account had been cancelled by them for non-payment and that I now owed £322 (I can't remember the exact figure). I couldn't be bothered to ring them any more, as they had made frequent promises to sort this out and hadn't and they not my had cancelled my phone contract as a result of the business with the internet. I never heard anything else from them. I have moved around a lot in the past five years due to my ex partner. On the 9th October 2015, I received a County Court Claim which I am defending. I sent back the Acknowledgement of Service Form online to them. I now have until the 9th November to send my defence. I am sure I have a good chance of winning this. I am going to deny all of the particulars of the claim as I don't agree with this. I have no idea what it is they are referring to. I rang Cohen Cramer Solictors for information, they just said it 'has to do with a mobile phone account'. So I am left second guessing. I never received any default notices (although they could have been sent to a previous address) . I never received any notice of intended court action by Lowell, they insist they sent it, but I did not get it! I don't want to mess up my defence, I want Lowell to prove the claim and believe I should have sent them a CPR31.14 form, however, I only found out about this today and I don't think there is time to send this now and place my defence with the court by 9th November deadline. I know for sure that Lowell will not let me extend the time to submit my defence, they are awkward. My main questions at this point is: 1. Can I file my defence form and send the CPR31.14 to Lowell anyway or do I have to had a response from Lowell re the requests made in the form before filing my defence. 2. Could I file my defence anyway (I need a bit of help with this) and then ask Lowell for the evidence and produce this in court. 3. Am I too late with the CPR31.14 form. I am going to the CAB on Monday to ask them to help me put my defence forward. But, I want to put the onus on Lowell to supply evidence, which will include a copy of the contract with Orange, all default notices sent to date, and transcripts of telephone conversations between myself and Orange which will prove my case. Lowell said they sent me notification that the debt had been legally assigned to them on the 27/08/2014. I never received such notification. I am going to deny this and ask for proof of where it was sent to. I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this. I have a heart problem and this has exarcerbated it and slowed things down. Many thanks in advance.

Hi ,i need help, i'm 23,carer,and live on 60 income support, i've had a court letter today for an orange contract i took out when i was at college in 2010. what happened was the phone broke 3months roughly before my contract was due to end, i had no insurance as i was living on 30 ema a week, i phoned they said nothing they could do so i just stopped paying the last 3months. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal as i'd paid every payment before that for over a year never missed. please walk me through what to do ,it says i have to go on moneyclaim.gov to respond, i thought i'd get your advice because you all seem to know what you're on about. Lowells want total 237.69, which seems extreme and i cannot afford. I did receive letters before reguarding my bill but i just ignored, because it was only for last months and i thought they would give up. Shall i offer a minimum monthly payment out my benefit? thanks for listening.
  25. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help? I received a letter from Buchanan Clark & Wells in relation to a debt to Orange Pcs Ltd for £130. I have no idea what the debt is for. I sent them a CCA letter (template on Forum) asking them to prove what the debt was for. I sent it recorded delivery and asked them to respond within a timeframe. Today I received a letter from BCW stating "we act as agents for Orange PCS Ltd in relation to the outstanding balance and do not hold the documentation you require. In order to obtain a copy of the documents you have requested, you will need to contact our client direct". They provide an address in Co. Durham. Does anyone have a template letter that I am able to use requesting these documents please? Also, we had an account with Orange/Freeserve/Wanadoo over 10 years ago. Recently we nearly moved to EE for Broadband but because they totally messed up the whole thing we never actually moved to them. Does anyone know if EE trade as Orange PCS Ltd? I cannot for the life of me think what we owe £130 for as as far as I am aware we have always closed/finished accounts with no outstanding balances. Thanks in advace SianHamer
