  1. I wonder if someone can help me - Ive got a interest only mortgage with GE MONEY which has been in arrears but OK now. Over last few years have had a few payment arrangements with them and as a result they have added lots of £40.00 admin fees. I think these add to over £2500 throughout my hardship. I just wanted to check that was all above board, seems a bit harsh in times of hardship that they actually made more money out of me. Any advice as always is appeciated!

    Where is my money?

Ok a bit of a strange one. A friend sent me 10k to purchase a car via BACS (as it was coming from his business account) This was on the 7th February, after 5 working days (14th February) the money had not arrived so I chased my friend who contacted TSB and they confirmed the Fraud team from Metro had been in touch but they confirmed the money was legit and confirmed Metro have the funds. I contact Metro who say they don't have it. Any Ideas?
  3. I am the property owner of a 1st floor flat with one flat below. Had a water leak (fixed) and owner of the flat below has put in a claim for damage to his property. I bought the property before I was married under the name 'Miss Schroedingerscat'. My partner is on the deeds as an 'interested party' but I am the owner of property and mortgage. We got married, My husband is 'Mr Jon Pavlovthecat' and I took his surname. The owner of the flat downstairs should know that I am the owner, as the freehold is owned by both of us and obviously there was legal contact etc at the time of buying the property. He knows I am married now as we contacted him ref converting our loft (we own that, not freehold) with my new name and explanation of marriage. He has made the claim against defendant Mr Jon Schroedingerscat. Which is a) not his name and never has been and b) is not the person against which the claim should be directed, not being the owner of the property. Rather than going through the whole process of my dispute (to be fair I've already written it out), should I just cite this as the reason for my dispute, as it's not an error in spelling or because I changed my name, it's the wrong person, and the wrong name of that person. What happens if I simply dispute it for this reason and no other reason? If the court disagrees that this is a valid reason, what happens next? NB. I am disputing the claim for a number of reasons, so this is not an attempt to get out of liability for the claim.
  4. This is a thread to contain my payday loans, my original one is here: HERE Here is a list of the payday loans i taken out from 2011-2014 (ish) The last contact i made with them was December 2017 as instructed by Redbridge Finance a company who was "supposidly" going to help me claim compensation from them. Wonga Quickquid Payday express Mr lender Myjar The money shop The cheque centre To name but a few, there are probably more but it really hurts my head when i try and think back. I am not being chased for any of the above debts at the moment, and not all of them are on my credit report. The only ones that are on my Noddle credit report are: Lantern: a debt collection agency wanting £262 default date 11/08/2014 Advance against income Active securities LTD a debt collection agency wanting £442 Default date 07/09/2014 I'm not sure which company they are from (original creditors) , i haven't heard anything from them ever although all of my debts were taken out at my old address. There are probably more than the ones i listed at the top of the page, but it's going back a long time and feel free to read the thread linked in the top for a short back story going back to 2012. I was hoping for some advice on where to go from here, redbridge tried to put a claim in against Wonga, filed a complaint against the FCA to find they went bust. Thanks so much in advance.

  6. If this is the wrong place for this post please move it. Hi I have a Ltd company and manufacture goods myself. I have a customer who owes me around £8500. Most of the money owed I supplied them when the person was a sole trader trading as XXXXXXX. Around June this year they registered as LTD and told me when they collected an order late June I think. I have asked for interim payments to get the debt down from just under £10,000 which they did and got it down to around £7000 but I allowed them a few smaller orders to help them out on the understanding that they carried on paying. They haven't really.....and I have nudged them for some more money and it looks like they can't pay anything for at least 2 or 3 months. Then it will be can we have some more stock and we can pay you or if not we will have to get stock elsewhere and use any money we have to buy stock from elsewhere to keep going. Now is the person still liable for the goods they had off me before they went LTD or does it all transfer to the LTD company now. I am thinking of asking for a personal guarantee or walking possesion on goods etc. I don't want to do this but I have been in this position before when someone gave me post dated cheques and fobbed me off a couple of months while he registered a new company and liquidated the company that owed me money. Any suggestions?
  7. Hi All, -I joined the gym on the 18th of April 2017 on an 11-month contract. -I tried to cancel my membership around August/September 2018. (17-18 months of paying) -The harlands online cancellation system kept popping up with errors when I tried to cancel. -I cancelled the direct debit as the online form was not working. -I received an email from Harlands on the 25th of September telling me that I was to reinstate my DD. -I responded and let them know that I had not been to that particular gym for over a year and that I had tried to cancel but it did not work. -I then received an email in October informing me that on top of the original membership fee charge of £9.99, they would be rounding it up to £34.99 due to an "administration fee". - Now they have rounded this up to £104.97 in total. - I would happily pay the £9.99 for the 1 month I missed. -So this cycle is going to keep going on and on as you cannot cancel membership if you have cancelled the dd. After reading on this forum for some time I have realised that they are not a very nice Company, however, any advice that you could give would be massively appreciated. I am an apprentice who makes no money whatsoever, so being asked to pay one-sixth of my paycheck before Christmas is appaling. Silo0o
  8. A letting agency has been demanding hundreds of pounds in payment before prospective tenants are allowed to view properties for rent, the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme has found. The practice, by Flintons, breaches guidelines and could be unlawful..Shadow housing minister Melanie Onn said renters needed more rights and the case was the "tip of the iceberg". Flintons, in London, denied any wrongdoing and said it did not charge any fees for viewings. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46111015
  9. I'm with Scottish Power pre-payment meter with key. Put £15 on card as usual. The gas meter read "error call help". So rang up and had the gas machine replaced with a new one. The person on the phone said they'll give me +£10 credit. Got new card in the mail later. Placed £5 to test. No extra +£10 credit, just the £5 I put on, and I still have the receipt of the original £15 and the old card. What are my options if they say they can't do anything about the £15? Not too bothered about the promised credit.
  10. My personal current account was recently suspended pending a 'compliance review' and then about 3 days later immediately closed with no warning. No reason was given so got absolutely no idea why it was closed. They are also saying that the balance (approx £3-4000) will be credited back to the most recent accounts that have paid in, but this won't be done for 6-10 weeks, "possibly longer". They blocked a payment out for my rent (made approx 4 days prior to them suspending the account initially) which they were informed about right away, and which caused the payment to be 10 or so days late - causing a lot of distress as I got grief from my landlord and had to find somewhere to borrow the money from to pay the rent. Can they just do this?
  11. Hi all. Me and the ex girlfriend ended about 2 years ago but kept in contact since. About 6 months ago I was having bad times with gambling. Being isolated I asked via texts if I could send her some money to hold onto until I had gambling blocks in place and was no longer at risk of gambling. She agreed and I sent her the money via bank transfer. As my income was paid in, I sent her more of it. Totalling £900. Purely to hold onto, not spend and I made this clear to her. She spent that money behind my back though. Claiming her roof had leaked which damaged her belongings that she had to replace (and chose my money to replace it with rather than go without). At this point now, we are no longer on great terms, she doesn't want to remain in contact (blatantly found someone else) and although I was due some payment back last month, no payment was made. I made a demand that I get £300 back each month for the next 3 months, yet she's plainly told me that wont happen as she won't have enough spare cash and will pay "some" each month. So now in theory, I have to sit and wait for what? Maybe £100 a month back until she cant be bothered to pay anything anymore? No thanks. What would my options be? She's currently living with her mum (she moved back there while we were still together). I'v told her I will contact her dad who again in theory, might pay the whole amount to avoid it going further, but not sure if I want to tempt that. Thanks
  12. I took out a 10year secured loan from Ge money ten years ago this was transferred to prestige finance in November 2015 . The loan is at an end but I still owe 3800 . There are charges and interest on charges on this account approx 2000 without any interest etc . Can I claim these back I believe if I could it would clear the balance left . Also I've got to still pay this and cannot pay the whole amount . Do I offer to pay the same amount as I have been 600 per month ? Will they charge me more interest ? Also if I can claim who do I claim off Ge or prestige ?
  13. I came home to a letter from Moneyclaimonline today, the instigator being Moriarty Law on behalf of Utility Warehouse. They contacted me about a year ago for a debt they claimed I owed in 2014, during the phone call I asked them to provide me with proof of the debt which was never supplied plus this does not show up on my credit file with Experian to date (I checked today). How this happened, if relevant is I needed an EPC for my home, the surveyor pressured me into consolidating my utility bills which I wasn't keen on but they kept telling me I was under no obligation and could always say no at the end.... which I did. convinced me to take out the gas / elec / internet / phone but when my mobile came in the redemption fee put me out of pocket and UW wouldn't cover it so I had a huge mess but managed to sort it out. After this I lost faith in the UW and requested to cancel the service with them, they were awkward to I went straight to my old utilities who transfered the services back. I wasn't aware of any outstanding debt, I believed my old company had figured this out. So I'm concerned I have a small claim's court form to complete, potential damage to my credit file but no default on my account to date. Any advice please?
  14. The purpose of this thread is to initiate a discussion with fellow eToro customers to examine the possibility of bringing a class action lawsuit against eToro, with the aim of recovering all the money lost on missold products. eToro encouraged thousands of inexperienced customers to bet their money on risky Contracts for Differences (CFDs). I argue that eToro negligently failed to ensure that customers properly understood the risks involved. The majority of these customers would not have put their money at risk if they had been properly informed by eToro. I submit that eToro is guilty of: 1. offering and promoting the use of high leverage, which made the CFD trades extremely risky and tantamount to gambling (before the ESMA rules took effect, leverage as high a x100 was available on some assets, including extremely risky ones like gold and oil); 2. failing to make a good-faith effort to ensure that customers genuinely understood the risks associated with high leverage – their boilerplate warnings were not sufficient to enable inexperienced investors to make a truly informed decision; 3. actively encouraging customers to put more money at risk by telephoning them; 4. encouraging customers to copy so-called "Popular Investors", despite the fact that none of them are professional traders and suffered losses when the favourable market conditions ended. In my opinion, such a class action lawsuit has a realistic prospect of success and is also in the public interest. Customers affected by at least one of the four points listed above can potentially receive compensation if the lawsuit is won by the claimants. This year thousands of customers suffered losses either by using the high leverage that eToro recklessly made available to unsophisticated customers, or by copying incompetent “Popular Investors” like JayNemesis and Wesl3y, who are not qualified to invest money on behalf of others. Let's get some momentum going and start selecting the right law firm to bring this claim against eToro!
  15. Hi everyone. I change my payment date for my car finance with money way... I was advised wrongly of the changed date and rang one date late to pay my finance which I was then told was terminated as I had defaulted more than once in 2 years.. I fought and fought as I rang in the date I was informed was the new date but got no where with the situation.. I’ve then had anglia uk over the phone and coming to my house to ask me to contact moneyway or to voluntarily surrender my car which I don’t want to do as I was told a court order would be needed as I’ve paid over a third and I want to fight my corner in court.. Will I made aware of the court date or will it just happen without me knowing for a return of goods order?? I keep getting passed from pillow to post with money way when I do ring and don’t really know where I stand with this situation and I’m stressed to death with it.. Thank you in advance for any advice

  17. I have a 10 year old mortgage that was sold by Compas Finance Broker (which I paid extortionate fees added to the mortgage) that was with GE money and has now been sold to Kensington. I went through a divorce just over 5 years ago and the mortgage was in joint names, in March last year I rang GE and asked for a transfer of equity as I now have my fiance living with me and things move on, during the phone call I went through the income and expenditure and GE cleared me for the T.O.E and sent out the forms. Due to delay of completing the forms due to family health problems the mortgage has been sold on to Kensington, to persue this again I rang Kensington but was told that they didnt do T.O.E's, I had a little rant and dug out the introduction pack id received from them. In the pack it states under terms and conditions that 'there are no changes to your mortgage conditions arising from the transfer' and they also included a Tariff of Fees on kensington headed paper which clearly state 'Change in Circumstances - Transfer of equity £100.00 charge' I put in writting my request for a T.O.E and sent it to kensington to get their official stance. A week later I received a letter acknowledging my complaint ???? they sent out a leaflet that outlined their Complaints procedure that clearly stated that they only accept complaints in writing ???? no complaint had been sent, only a request for the T.O.E I sent back a letter pointing out that I hadnt sent a letter of complaint only a request for the |T.O.E, I received a response 'that they can confirm that the option to remove a borrower from the mortgage account is not available'. Now the problem is that GE went through the Income and expenditure and sent me the forms for the transfer but yet kensington state there there is no option on the mortgage to transfer.. Despite them sending me the list of fees that include transfer and no changes to the origional contract with GE. I have SAR'd GE and have proof that they went through the I&E and sent me the forms and the terms and conditions of the mortgage are very vague and brief. can this be considered a breach of contract?? Also I state that it was 10 years since the sale of the mortgage but can the broker fees been reclaimed so far back that Compas finance broker recommended we take out this mortgage and not recommending a particular mortgage for your consideration (long shot I know regarding the limitation act) Hadituptohere
  18. Hi all, To make this as brief as possible, I had a second charge on my property with Nemo personal finance. In 2007 the property was repossessed due to a lot of bad luck and the original lender sold the property over £50,000 less than market value just to cover their own expenses (G E Money) which left nothing to pay off the second charge. I have been battling this loan on and off ever since and during this time Nemo took me to court and won because I never defended the claim and this was due to the fact \I knew nothing about it. I agreed a miminal payment to them which I paid monthly about 2/3 years ago I wrote to them sending them £10 PO asking for a SAR. They never produced it so after a while I stopped paying and things went quiet of a year. Now they are back on my case threatening with a attachment to earnings, High court Writ and Baliffs etc. I am not sure how I should proceed with this and would really appreciate some help. I id speak to one of their customer service reps when I got the first contact letter and explained that I stopped paying because they did not comply with my request and he said he would look into it and get back to me but he hasnt and I ave just had a letter threatening allsorts to collect. When I first loss my house I did do a lot of research on this with regard to the PPI and secret commissions which there undoubtedly was but never saw it through due to personal circumstances.
  19. Hi all, My partner and I moved into a private let property on 15th September 2017. We paid a months rent and deposit upfront. We then paid a months rent on 1st October and continued paying the 1st of every month since then. We were given two months eviction notice on 15th July 2018 as the landlord is selling the property. The estate agent has told us we owe rent until the 15th September and that we must pay half a months rent on 1st September. In my mind, we have already covered this payment by paying for a full months rent half way through the month the year previous. Is this right?
  20. Hi I pay smpl on Morgage but they are Acenden now. I've just sent them a Sar in the hope of reclaiming charges as I know I was in arrears about 7 or more years ago with capstone what's my chance of success here? I've just noticed they have cashed the cheque and £10 has been credited to my Morgage account. Is this normal practise?
  21. Going to chance my arm and go after the charges they applied to my mortgage back between 1991 to 2003, this was before we changed to Santander so they are no longer our mortgage lenders. I'm not holding out much success with this company:-x Back in 1991 we were badly mis-sold a mortgage with a five year fixed rate of 12.9% and informed that rate would remain at the level after the term ended. How they lied to use soon after the recession hit the mortgage rates dropped to 5%, this crippled us to breaking point.:-x:-x
  22. Does anyone know of a website that I can use to refund my money from a dormant back account as I had an old TSB bank account now Lloyds which has a small amount of money which has since been closed (tried mylostaccount.org before). I've already been in my local Lloyds branch today and they advised to me to reclaim the money. Thanks
  23. I am trying to help a friend who lives overseas but whose father lived in the UK. His father died without leaving a Will and left an Estate worth £58,000. My friend has a Solicitor acting on his behalf in the UK but he was informed that his father was overpaid benefits from both the DWP and the local authority whilst he was alive even though he was living in a local authority run residential home. The total amount of the overpayment was £38,000. I am just wondering how is this possible when he was unable to make a claim for himself? My friend is only relying on the information received from his Solicitor but he would like to know how could he go about finding out the total amounts overpaid to both of these departments and whether indeed there was an overpayment. Any advise would be appreciated.
  24. I invest money for trading in this company after they will call me 5 times after they never receive my call and not reply on whatsapp. I've worst experience during this session. Still, they not refund my money. Kindly Help me for this issue.
  25. Hi, I have had my bank accounts closed and told I will have to wait for 30 days to get my money. Ive had an account with a main bank and always used my mums address, this account is about 5 years old and with a small overdraft and no problems.I have been living with my GF for about two years so thought I could get an account at her address so I just did it with the other bank that is linked to my main bank but was told if I wanted to close my old account I would have to go into the branch to do so. I carried on using both accounts and even set up fastpayment with my new account and sent over a small amount. A week later I transfered over a larger amount and it never arrived so I called up the bank and was put through to the fraud team. I explained what I had done and they said OK and put the payment through. The next day I went to login online and it wouldnt let me so I called the bank and was put through to the account closure team, they said they could not give me any information and I would get a letter in the post. Five days later a letter arrived at both addresses saying exactly the same thing that my account was closed and I was to go into the bank with I.D and withdraw my money. Now between the two accounts I have about £10k so I called the bank and was told I could not have my money as they where making checks and I have to wait 30 days. I explained that I had received letters saying to withdraw my money and they just said they where doing checks and I could call back every week to see if there had been any updates. Is there some sort of protacol for this, after 30 days will they just say sorry no decision made, my Contract mobile is fine and also my credit card etc. From what I have read it seems they will be checking for fraud and money laundering but all the information inc D/L and passport are legal. Cheers Zoom
