  1. Hi all I have debts with Littlewoods, Next and hubby has one with Very (along with other debts such as credit cards and a store card but these are the 'catalogue' debts). We are struggling to pay any of our debt and need to make some payment arrangements. I have noted that there is a CCA request which is often used by people to see if the debt is enforceable, I am not sure when these ONLINE accounts were set up but believe it was 2007/08. Can anyone advise if we are able to take any steps in regards to CCA... Also, would you advise to CCA them anyway and see what happens?...... In either instance can we claim back all the late payment fees etc from these debts?... .I understand I would need to SAR them but after that not sure how to actually request the fees back so a little advice would be lovely please. Thanks guys
  2. Hi All, Looking for some advice and guidance please. I had two accounts littlewoods and very, both had payment protection on them. I run the accounts fine for years and then got into a bad patch financially and couldn't afford to pay them, it didn't help that I was being paid monthly and the statements were 4 weekly. Shop Direct sold the debt to Lowell, I now have a CCJ for the one account. But they piled on a load of charges and interest before they sold the debt to Lowell, and what was a £2k debt between two accounts is now a £3.7k debt. Any advice with this? Or should I just accept it is what it is and continue paying the amount agreed with Lowell. Thanks in advance Sarah
  3. I made a PPI claim online for an old Littlewoods account. I have a few questions. The account was opened in 2010 and sold to a DCA in about 2012/13. I paid very little directly to Littlewoods and very little again to the DCA. On and off etc. I'm not even totally sure I had PPI and the claim was made more in hope than expectation, but does it matter how old the account is and whether or not it remains unpaid? How long should I expect to wait until I hear something? I didn't even get an email receipt of the claim when I made it about a week ago. If anyone has made a claim like this recently would love to hear your experience
  4. Hi, It’s currently 4:30am and haven’t been able to sleep tonight worrying about this situation I find myself in so apologies in advance for bad spelling/not making sense. I opened a littlewoods account around 2/3 years ago now when I’d lost everything and was immature and stupid I ended up maxing out the account to a total of £600...100s of letters/phone calls of being ignored I’ve finally been hit with a county court claim. Came on the 4th but had the date of 1/06/18 on it. I briefly read through it and started to panic on how real this could be getting. I haven’t filled anything in I was just going to ignore it and just let things plan out as I did do with quickquid years ago which just gave up but reading more into the forums here and the words county court are starting to seem more serious. I have no job and has been like that for 6 months now, No money at all and living with my mum. We’re set to move in a few months so If I just ignored what will happen? I’ve not once been in contact with them like most have on here it’s just been a straight case of me ignoring it whilst giving myself a slap everytime a letter came through the door asking myself why was I so stupid back then. if someone could help with advice I would really appreciate it, Also my credit rating is so bad and I really don’t expect to be looking for any credit related items in the next 5-8 years so would an CCJ really affect me? Lowell’s now ask for a sum of £860 odd in total Thanks and sorry for any ignorance in this message
  5. Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me with a small problem I have a littlewoods catalogue that i have had for a few years, Me and my wife only use it when they have a sale on or send us discount vouchers, We usually pay it off fully before the payment date The latest balance was £25 and i meant to pay it in time but forgot I suddenly remembered it today and logged in to find it should have been paid Friday, I have cleared it today with a card payment online and now it shows 0 balance Though it is the 13th today it actually shows payment made on the 12th which will be 1 day late Does anyone know if they will mark my credit report with a late payment, It took me a long time to get a perfect credit score and i would be devastated is all that was ruined by a day late payment
  6. Hello, I’m very sorry I don’t think this post is in the accurate place, I couldn’t find where I needed to post. I have an issue with Littlewoods and Very. I have been with them for about 6 years, I owe £6000 to Littlewoods and £500 to very. I have always maintained payments up until 10 days ago when I have missed my first littlewoods payment due to have some financial difficulty. I received a few text messages from them saying they haven’t received my payment, which was fine. That was until today, I have now unplugged my home phone because I was in double figures on the calls I had received, they now have started to call my mobile as they are not getting anywhere with the home phone. I can’t afford to pay them anywhere near the amount that they want but I don’t know what to do or where to go from here now to protect myself and my family. The calls started at 8 o clock this morning and haven’t stopped since, any advise would be greatly appreciated and I again I’m sorry for posting this in the wrong area.
  7. Hello everyone, I would like to request an Statement of Account from Littlewoods, what should my letter say? See story below... I've opened an account with them a few years back (I cant remember the year) and started with a credit limit of £750, they have gradually increased that limit until it got to £7500 and I couldn't keep up with the monthly payments anymore. They've now pased the account onto Lowells for the outstanding balance of £5900 to be collected. I looked on my credit report to find out when the account with Littlewoods was opened, but it somehow disappeared from there (Noddle), instead i have a defaulted Lowells account showing. I am trying to find out how often they have increased my credit limit and when it was opened, hence my question about the statement of account. Thank you
  8. Hi all. I am in desperate need of some help I'm afraid. I just received a county court claim from Lowells in regards to a debt I had with Littlewoods. The debt goes back a few years, I stupidly bought from Littlewoods when I was out of work and desperate for clothing. I tried my best to pay off as much as I could but then Lowells got involved and started demanding way more than I even borrowed from Littlewoods. Earlier this year I emailed them a demand to show me proof of the debt, they took over a month to do so and all they sent me was a standard Littlewoods credit agreement with my name printed on. There was no breakdown of the what the debt was for. I also argued that they took way too long to send this to me and it did not have my signature on it, but they said none of that mattered and I still had to pay. I asked for time to seek legal advice but today I received the court papers. The debt is £1326.01 plus £70 court fees plus £80 legal reperesntives costs so the total is now £1476.01. I cannot afford to pay this at all and I am now scared and worried sick. Please could someone advise about what I might be able to do? If I admit the debt will I still get a CCJ and get my credit rating ruined? Can I contest the debt? And if so how should I approach this? The issue date on the letter is 28th of October 2016 and it arrived today so I assume I don't have long to respond before I lose by default. I suffer from very severe depression and anxiety and this is having a terrible effect on me. I would just pay it if I could and I don't want to get a CCJ and have my credit ruined. Please can anyone help?
  9. Hi I've got 4 catalogues with late charges but thought i would start very claim first, I've sent my sar letter its came back with all sar information for all catalogue 4 accounts. 10. Hi am having problems with littlewoods. They haven't credited my whole order. Am cornered as one the items not refunded was faulty. It arrived used and dident look like the picture. I wrote this down on the delivery note. The other dress I think they're just forgotten to refunding. I've read some very bad reviews online about how it's the customers fault if they receive a dodgy item so to speak. I've had this once before with a jumper. It was sent used I kept it as was less hassle. But looking online, it seems the customer is at fault! Regardless if you keep quiet or speak out! Surely there must be something that can be done? It's ok for them to send out broken damaged used items. But if you the customer returns them. We have to pay for them this just does not seem fair. The catalogue wins every time. I've emailed them yet no response. I can't afford to phone them as it cost over £10. I rang up regards to getting a faulty dehumidifier returned still waiting. They never sort anything out. Why can't they be more like next there fantastic at getting things resolved. Thanks in advance
  11. I have received a Default Notice from littlewoods and very stating that if I don't pay the full amount by such a date then further action may be taken against me, possible court action etc? 6 months ago i had to stop work due to a disability and have been paying £20 per month on each account ( i have two) which is the most i can afford at this point and i am now in arrears on both accounts, one has £600 arrears the other £900arreas . I simply don't have the money to pay them both and thus have only been able to pay £20 per month on each one. Now i am panicking and don't know what do do next? Any advice would be a big help.
  12. In mY 2016 i bought a PC from littlewoods, 156wks. i asked them today that i wish to pay my balance in FULL and enquired about interest refund, I was told NO refunds because the item was taken out on interest bearing terms? I asked them where on their T&Cs it says that items on interest bearing terms will not be interest refunded if paid back early, they said it doesnt, so explain to me WHY i am not entitled to a refund then??(2 years interest taken off balance)
  13. Hi, Today my partner received a letter from Lowell's Finance telling her she owed a very large amount of money on a Littlewoods account. She has had a Littlewoods account in the past but it was paid up and closed about two years ago. So now we are left in a weird position, this money has accrued and we haven't had any post about it before now, from Lowell's or Littlewoods. We can't remember any log-in information, and when we try to recover the forgotten password with my partners email, it tells us there is no account existing with that email address. We don't know if it's some kind of mistake, or we have been the victims of fraud for over a year. But it's definitely not us that have used this account, and now I'm worried that we have been left with a bill and our credit affected because someone else has opened a Littlewoods account in my partners name. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  14. Hi, I am seeking advice on here about a faulty laptop that Littlewoods do not want to know about. I sent an email to Nick Mcbrien. "Hello, I am contacting you today as I have failed to resolve an issue with a laptop I purchased on 05/06/2016. The laptop I purchased was opened by me three weeks ago and was setup according to the manufacture instructions and I am not happy with it as it kept crashing and running very slow and now keeps rebooting and will no longer start up, keeps on loading and then rebooting. I have looked and tried solutions online but nothing has solved the problem. I contacted Littlewoods customer services and explained the problem and that I wished to return the product for a refund and I am very unhappy with my purchase, the customer service advisor told me that I would get a call back in a few days to arrange a return and they asked me to call them back on 02030140095 if I didn't get a call back. I waited 5 days and decided to call the number provided and realized that the number the advisor gave me was Lenovo customer services, I hung up as I was annoyed that the advisor had tried to fob me off to the manufacturer, even though they said that Littlewoods would arrange a return for a refund. I then called up Littlewoods explaining what had happened the new advisor kept saying to me that they would send an engineer out to look at it, even though I explained I wanted a refund and was promised one, then the advisor gave me the same phone number again telling me to call Lenovo as they would deal with any issues. I called the 02030140095 number and spoke to a call center advisor, who said my point of sale contract is with Littlewoods as it is less than 12 months old and they said I would need to contact Littlewoods with any queries. I have decided to contact someone higher up than the scripted customer service advisors that were no help whatsoever and gave me the run around. I have never been this extremely frustrated in returning something that is not fit for purpose for a refund. All I would like to do is for somebody to arrange for the laptop to be returned for a refund. The laptop has been used twice and comes with everything complete like when I received it but is faulty." I was contacted shortly after the email by Shop Direct Group Executives Complaints Team and they said they would look into my case but it has been 2 weeks now and I sent them an email in the meantime saying that this is a joke now and I have a laptop sitting at home that does not work at all and nobody has replied. Is there anything I can do to take this further? Many thanks.
  15. Hi Guys, I'd be interested for your thoughts and advice on this. I was recently contacted by Lowell with regards to a very old Littlewoods account. I CCA'd them, and they were able to provide a signed CCA from 2007. Here is the interesting/confusing bit- Outstanding Balance - £183 Last Payment - 10.05.2010 Default Date - 11.04.2011 It seems it had taken Littlewoods 11 months to default the account (there was no contact between myself or them in that time frame). Would I have a leg to stand on by going down the statute barred route from the last payment date? Cheers
  16. Hi guys, In need of some advice and guidance regarding a credit agreement with littlewooods. In March this year our Television broke and so I sought a replacement. As it happened Littlewoods had some offers on their range of TVs and combined with a new customer discount tis made for a good deal on the TV I was looking for. Combined with their 12 month pay later 0% this seemed a great way to get the TV quick and set the money aside to pay for it at Christmas when I had a bonus due. Upon ordering the TV the representative on the phone struggled to get the order through, first the code wouldn't work, then something else, the the wrong finance plan, the wrong item but Finlay I was able to pay £250 deposit and place the order. The rep assured me the code would be added to the order, the mistakes he'd made ordering it twice rectified and not to worry. TV arrived as promised, just the one, everyone happy.........until the statement arrives the following month. Not only had the discount not been applied but the finance plan was over 3 months, not the 12 at 0%. These two things are what swayed me to buying the TV in the first place. Without, I'd have been better off going elsewhere. I called them, after about an hour of being passed from one place to another I was finally assured not to worry, told to ignore the statement and minimum payment and that following one would be correct and show what I'd actually signed up for. Not only did this following statement not show this, but the amount had increased and a default and missed payment charged added. This has continued each month. Me spending £50 or so and hours on the phone to them with promises of someone will surely call me back, it will be put right and not to worry. Not only have I never received a call back but the statement amount continues to increase despite their acknowledgement it is incorrect and their mistake. It may only be a trivial amount of a few hundred pounds but that is a lot of money to me and something I have to work every hard for. With the time off work on the phone and the cost of calls it adds up to more than I should owe them! Where do I stand on getting these expenses back and sorting this out as 4 months on and it still continues. Its pretty stressful and worrying and I shouldn't have to be spending days on the phone in then little time I get with my family running up expenses chasing a problem they freely admit is there mistake inn the first place. What to do? All help and advice appreciated.
  17. Hello, I hope I can get some advice please. I seen an offer on Littlewoods website for 20% cash back on all laptops , I said to order and select buy now pay later at check out and that 20% credit would be applied to acc, I did not have to enter any codes at all. Recd laptop but no credit to acc after 3weeks I called them today and was told that i ordered on 4th june and offer ended end may! This offer was on the website and i followed instructions for the offer. Can you tell me where I stand as seems they are not going to honour the offer. I have no proof as didnt take a screen shot but would like to know where I go from here ? Can I return the laptop ? it has been used but I would think under the credit acc I have been missold . I am happy with the lap top and happy to keep but not without my cashback offer and the lap top was over £900 so it is alot of cashback that is due to me. Any advice appreciated.
  18. Hello. I'm very new to this site so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong part of the forum! I've been a Littlewoods customer since 2007 and my account has always been in good standing. However, recently I have had some unforseen financial difficulties and I have been unable to meet my minimum payment so have £100 in arrears. My minimum payment is £220 every 28 days. I emailed the collection team straight away to let them know that I was having difficulties. I would have telephoned but I have a disability which makes communicating via telephone very difficult. I filled in a form which stated what my incomings and outgoings are and that I could afford £50 a month. They have accepted this for 3 months. Is this standard? Also, they haven't told me whether this is in place of my minimum payment or alongside it to clear my £100 arrears (which wouldn't add up if it's over 3 payments.) I owe quite alot to Littlewoods, about £6000 with some things still being on BNPL and the interest-free period hasn't ended yet. I can't believe I have got into this situation. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do if the £50 is alongside the minimum payment rather than in place of it? I'm disabled and a mother of two young children and as our financial situation has turned to rubbish, I cannot afford to pay £200 a month when I also have 2 little mouths to feed and things I need to buy because of my disability. Thank you in advance.
  19. I'm trying to sort out my other half's debts one relates to a littlewoods account from a couple of years ago, Last January i offered them a token payment of £1 per month and heard nothing more, Had a few 'notice of sums in arrears' letters and thats it, Been paying the £1 per month ever since... Today the other half gets a DEFAULT NOTICE from littlewoods served under section 87(1) of the consumer act 1974 through the post and requires the outstanding balance of £1152.21 be paid by the 18th April and no further action will be taken if its not it says further action could be taken yet all it says in that part is the same we want it all paid off. I'm looking at issueing a CCA request will this put the account on hold? In bold it says this if you have difficulty in paying any sum owing under the agreement or taking any other action required by this notice, you can apply to the court which may make an order allowing you or any surety more time any help appreciated.
  20. I bought a pair of boots from Littlewoods in December and use a £30 discount code. They did not fit and were immediately returned. They're now charging me for the value of the discount code even though I didn't keep the item. The customer service told me I'm required to pay for the 'broken discount code' (whatever that means as I didn't break any code!!) Perhaps she meant breaking a contract but I assume one is entitled to return online good without penalty. So can anyone enlighten me regarding this issue as I can't understand what is going on and how I'll paying £30 for trying a pair of shoes. What t & c's I'm breaking that I'm required to pay for the discount I never had as the purchase did not go ahead. Any advice very welcome. Thank you:)
  21. Hi there, Any advice welcome! In may 2015 I ordered a 3 seat leather sofa from littlewoods which was delivered on the 2nd june 2015. Towards the end on november we noticed the middle of the sofa was bowing and actually touching the floor so contacted littlewoods who arranged for an 'engineer' to visit and assess. The assessor came on the 18th december and summarised that the sofa was inadequately supported in the centre and his idea of fixing the problem was to put a plstic black leg in the middle of the sofa bearing in mind that th other feet on the sofa are dark brown wood! He asked me to sign to say he'd been which i did and then he left. I called littlewoods to say i was unhappy with this as my sofa had been modified not repaired and the agent agreed this was unsatisfactory and would arrange another 'engineer' to come out. since then i have had a call saying I signed to say i was happy with the repair and as a result they were not prepared to take any further action regarding replacement or repair. Im new to making a complaint but surely they have a right to ensure the sofa is exactly how i bought it not to just chuck an extra leg on there and think it is acceptable? How should i approach this?
  22. Hi, I wonder if I could have some advice on the following. I checked my credit report for the first time in a while today, and notice that Lowell has added a default, dated 04/01/2011, for a small debt which is 'mail order'. Looking at the account start date of 2001, this is clearly a Littlewoods account which I stopped paying back in about 2006/7 when I got into significant financial difficulty and it ceased to be a priority debt. I've not paid or acknowledged the debt in this time, and it's almost certainly a) mostly made up of charges and b) statute barred or almost statute barred. I have received letters about this debt but have ignored then due to assuming they were phishing on a statute barred debt. Any advice on how I go about finding out why/how the default is there and how I get it removed, please?
  23. Hello I am currently in a dispute with Littlewoods catalogue regarding a Silentnight Miracoil mattress I bought from them as part of a divan set. I ordered it on 30th December 2014 and received it in the middle of January. We noticed it was quite noisy to start with but assumed this was just because it was new and would settle down. Weeks passed and come September I decided enough was enough and contacted Littlewoods to complain. They said they would send a technician out to assess the mattress. He visited on 25th September and, I have just found out this morning, apparently found no fault with the mattress. Now, my husband and I share the bed (obviously), along with our 14 month old. By September, the mattress was making so much noise that it was disturbing our sleep every time we moved or, in some cases, breathed! The mattress is lumpy and bumpy, it crunches as you sit on it, with a very audible crunch. Even to look at it it looks a complete mangled mess. I don't trust the report - I know the technician has to be impartial but when he assessed it he did indicate to my husband that the mattress did not appear to be fit for purpose. Of course, that is our word against his. Littlewoods have charged us £45 for the technician report because he did not find a fault. The mattress and bed cost £528 which has been paid off. I have told them I am not happy with the outcome and that if this is their final word, I want it in writing. This was their response: Thank you for your email please get your own independent report done if a manufacturing afult is found send in the report + the receipt for cost of report for us to view thank you littlewoods upolstery dept. (that was the way it was written, in that exact format, which is not very professional looking is it?!) Any advice would be most welcomed Thanks in advance!
  24. Hello, I am new to this and looking for help, in Oct/Nov 2013 I ordered 2 items out of my Littlewoods on behalf of someone else, one of the items was delivered to her address and the other to her moms - both signed for. We had no written agreements but verbally agreed she would pay the items off over 12 months so that no interest would be occurred. This lady only made 2 payments and then said she couldn't afford to pay anything and would pay Littlewoods direct, I advised this wasn't an option they wouldn't allow this. We went on like this up to August 14 me asking for payment and the lady saying no she was sorting it with Littlewoods (I had spoken to L/W several times advised of the situation and they confirmed they would not deal with her they even put this in writing to me) In the end me and the lady had words and she ended up verbally threatening me, I advised Littlewoods and they said to contact the police and log it and they would then remove the lady and balance (£700) from my account and deal with her direct, I did this and then L/W said that as the account was in my name I needed to pay the debt and then take the lady to court to reclaim the money, I advised I was reluctant to do this due to the violent nature of the lady and it would cause me more trouble and leave me out of pocket for a long time. In April this year Littlewoods finally sent the lady a letter asking her to admit liability so that they could remove her from my account and she could then pay them direct, of course the lady ignored this letter and as a result of this Littlewoods have been hounding me with phone calls all times of the day. I haven't answered any of the calls as don't know what they want me to do, I refuse to pay for something I don't have. Where do I stand? Can Littlewoods enforce the debt on me? I don't have any other balance on the account other then this £700, I have always been a good payer in the past.
  25. Can anybody look into that? Always something wrong with shopping with shopping with Littlewoods! On first I bought an camera with lens (well - it had to be with lens). They've send me just an body kit. Price on recipe (just for body) was the same like for camera with lens. Of course I had to return it and swap for camera with lens (on first they've send me to manufacturer!) Then I bought washing mashine from them. It was damaged (dented on the side, and oil was leaking from engine), so I complain about this, and it took about about 3 weeks (after one month of waiting for that), that they've took it back and sent another one. Then I've ordered sunglasses, which were returned (not by me!), and DKNY stainless steel watch, which was phisically on the way (because I was tracking the parcel), but they've sent me a mail, that it's "no longer available"!! But on the place where you can track the parcel it's shows, that this watch was returned, and they (Littlewoods) said, that only if they'll get retun that parcel, they will take this off from my account. Today 2 weeks passed from that time, when it was "returned"... 29 June, 2015 13:34:00 Return received from customer Lichfield 29 June, 2015 12:38:00 Despatched from Lichfield 29 June, 2015 10:25:00 Return parcel to warehouse 29 June, 2015 10:11:00 Received off van 25 June, 2015 13:16:00 Van en route 25 June, 2015 09:41:00 Passed to courier 25 June, 2015 06:17:00 Loaded onto van 25 June, 2015 01:13:00 Loaded onto van 25 June, 2015 00:57:00 Received at Lichfield 24 June, 2015 10:53:00 Van en route - Stop And Return: crossed order 24 June, 2015 10:33:00 Sorted at Shaw Warehouse - Delivery WS10, route YOD7790 24 June, 2015 08:13:46 Despatched from warehouse Shaw 24 June, 2015 08:13:00 Sorted at Shaw Warehouse - Delivery WS10, route YOD7790 23 June, 2015 21:27:02 Order being processed at warehouse Then I've ordered perfumes from them. And nobody wasn't come, and nobody left anythig at my door. Same on today. They said that they've left deliver card, but there was NOTHING at my door!! And finally, after my complains on facebook, they've banned (!!!) my profile there and they're not answering for my e-mails!! Then I've wrote on their site on facebook from another account, and they've banned that account as well (but I've made a picture) I think some Court should look into that, because they're breaking all customers rights! Sorry for my english, but that is not my first language. Can anyone tell me what I suppose to do, because like I've said they are ignoring my emails and they've banned me on facebook!
