  1. My son is a 21 yr old adult with autistic spectrum disorder. he has recently begun driving lessons with a national company but on at least 2 occasions, his instructor has fell asleep during his lesson. i have complained to the company but had no response in 7 weeks. There is a fair bit more to this but was wondering where to escalate the complaint to? Would it be the DVSA?
  2. wonder if anyone can help . My sister just booked intensive driving course which has been a total disaster. On of the main things was that the instructor had no badge displayed and despite her asking several times she only found iust the number today and he told her ( just before her test ) that he is only a trainee. should he have displayed his badge? The car had a problem with a tyre which was noticed by the examiner He fell asleep whilst giving her lessons ( and apparently had been working very long hours) He lied about knowing the area and was constantly using a sat nav on his phone to get round . Plus apparently he asked her out to dinner. This was amongst other things as well. She is totally gutted as the course cost her a lot of money does she have any recourse?
  3. Hi, I really need a very quick response or suggestions on this post please. I booked 10 hour driving lessons with BSM. Initially i explained to my instructor about how i am going to use the 10classes. 8 hours for driving and last 2 hours for the Test. He is happy at that time with what i said. Now i finished 6 hours in 3 days. Today he called me and saying that he is not going to take me to the Test coz i am not going to pass the test and he don't want to put his reputation down. I don't understand how can he say like that to me now? If i am not fit for the exam, he could have told me in the beginning it self. He is telling me now just two days before my test. How can he behave like this. Could any one please let me know how to take action on this particular issue. Cheers, Prince.
  4. Having purchased 4 hours tuition for my daughter from Groupon, her instructor arrived today for her first, 2 hour lesson. I discussed future hourly rates with him etc and asked what his pass rate was. I was surprised to hear that he doesn't have one... he said that he only puts pupils in for a test 'when they are test-ready' but that 'some fail because of silly mistakes' Some fail the 2nd time too. For that reason he doesn't keep pass rate reco.rds. (having failed twice myself for silly mistakes I can appreciate that that does happen) He seemed pleasant enough, seemed to have good record keeping booklets for daughter and himself but again shrugged his shoulders over the pass rate query. I have just realised that I didn't ask how long he has been an instructor - maybe he is new at it. Other than by personal reference this is the only way that I felt I could gauge his competence, of course I suppose he could just have lied and said his pass rate was first class!. Any comments or suggestions please. Thank you
  5. As mentioned in the title i had purchased this car on 16/09/12 with my son. The car is a fiesta 2009 1.6 tdci and all seemed well besides a few scratches to which the salesman knocked £200 off for. All was well until today i took the car to my garage for a full valet which was then i realised that there was a patch of carpet glued over a hole on the passenger side. I then lifted the carpet and to my horror i had then seen holes for which dual controls would have gone. I then also noticed a clean scratch free square shape on the roof where the learner sign would have been. When purchasing the car i had asked the garage who owned the car and they said it was company vehicle hence the higher mileage and on the logbook was the name of a company of which sells and hires cars. I was NOT told it was a driving instructor car at the time. I contacted the garage today and the seller has refused any wrong doing despite him admitting that he knew it was instructors and didnt tell me and refuses to refund my money or even give some compensation:mad2:. Please tell me what are my rights on this and how would i go about them? Thank You
