  1. Hi all New user finding his way around the forums, so apologies if I am in the wrong area here! I have a Tribunal case coming up against a former employer, and they have requested an 'impact statement' about my disability which needs to be submitted this week. I wondered whether anyone has access to a template of any kind that I can work from, as I have no idea where to start? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  3. Dear All, Hello. My disclosure is due today in my discrimination case. I am self-representing.I have done a word document with heading(claim information) and then I did a list of the documents just numbered 1-20.   5. Looking for further information how this new bill will impact on several subjects.. It got RA in March this year I believe and became an Act shortly thereafter.... It will have an impact on various threads we advise on so what are your thoughts please?...
  6. obviously scullion will not be heard in the house of lords. why wasn't it, scullion withdrew on the morning of the hearing, that sounds to me like a settlement deal as opposed to the risks involved inc. costs? does anybody have any thoughts on this and the way forward? is smith v bush still good?

Hi everyone, I have started a general thread about my overall situation: (it wont let me give a link 'cos i am new) Today I received a letter from vanquis which is titled FINAL DEMAND - PRE IMPACT COLLECTIONS I must admit that I find this title hilarious, am I the only one that thinks it sounds like they will arrange a car crash if I dont pay up? The only option they are offering me is to ring them on a 7p per minute 0871 number to make a payment. What they dont say is 'alternatively you could pick up the phone at some point as we take you on a daily mystery tour of UK dialing codes and subject yourself to a torrent of needless abuse'! What I have done so far is this: I have stopped paying them the £150 pcm they demand, which is about £142 interest and I have begun paying them £5 a month. This is genuinely all I can afford, I am not trying to [problem] this and if I had 3k spare I would stuff it up their .... To get rid of them. Advice as to my next move on this?
  9. Hi everyone, Fantastic forum with lots of great advice. I have been researching things relevant to my situation but I think the best thing would be to post my queries and hope that some of you can help me clear things up. I am beside myself with worry, and I'm constantly feeling down and really don't see how I can get a proper life back. I fell into arrears with a vanquis credit card when I fell into money troubles through my business not doing very well for a few months. I did contact vanquis to explain my situation and request that they froze any charges / interest etc... .those requests were ignored and the letters demanding payment continued along with the constant phone calls.. .the phone calls really get to me, so much so I have now taken to leaving my phone on silent. I am in no way trying to escape my debt, I just wanted them to understand my situation and agree to some "fair" repayment plan. I received a notice of default from vanquis dated 16/7/13, then a confirmed resident letter from impact a few weeks later, and in the last couple of days a letter from resolvecall stating they are acting on behalf of vanquis and they have been instructed to collect any outstanding balance... .the letter also states that if I fail to contact vanquis within 3 days then a doorstep visit will be made. I am unsure if I have jumped the gun slightly but I decided to send each of these companies a CCA request letter which also included a section regarding doorstep visits and how I wasn't granting permission. I received a response from resolvecall with them stating that they were confirming my CCA request along with the £1.00 postal order I sent. ..but if I wanted a copy of the agreement then I should contact vanquis directly, and in the meantime they will continue with their actions as per vanquis's instructions. The p.o was returned also. Where do I go from here, I feel like they have dismissed my CCA request. I'm not very good at dealing with people at the best of times due to lack of confidence in subjects I in all honesty don't know much about, but I am feeling totally intimidated and scared of what the future holds. I would really appreciate any advice anyone can offer....letters to send, dates and timelines etc. Thanks.
  10. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a credit card which I have defaulted on with Vanquis Bank who have passed the debt on to their collection agency Impact Collection Services. they are bombarding me with calls every day and it is doing my head in. I wrote them a letter asking them to only contact me by letter but they continue to call me saying they did not receive the letter. They will not give me an e-mail address when I ask them on the phone. Has anyone dealt with this company in the past and have an e-mail address for them so that I can send them an e-mail regarding the calls Would be Appreciated
  11. Hello,was needing some advice please. I have previously been in debt up to my eyeballs and managed to get a DMP in place,and gradually it is all going down. However,my wife has a CC with vanquis and she is not included on the DMP. Now she only has a small limit of £300 and up until a couple of months ago she was working and making payments. Some months the full amount was paid others only minimum payments. Now she has lost her income and we cannot afford to pay the card off. We were inundated with calls from vanquis and now we have received a letter from Impact Collection Services asking for a payment in full. Obviously we cannot afford to make the payment (otherwise i wouldn't be on here ) but i have tried to reason with them over the phone to stop interest and charges and let me make an affordable payment of £30 per month to clear the debt, i should also point out here that my wife will not talk to them as she feels harassed by them and is not fully conversant in english. However they refuse to deal with me and keep demanding that she talks to them. I want to clear the debt,we are not trying to run from it, but i just want the constant calls to my mobile??? to end and also cant see the point in them keep adding £12 charges and interest when we cannot afford to make the payments. Can anyone offer some advice please on what my next move should be? Many thanks
  12. Hi . Firstly I hope I am posting in the correct forum. Here goes. I have had a Vanquis card which due to charges and interest has now got a balance of £2800. I have been receiving endless calls from IMPACT collections about this. I do not talk tyo them on the phone. I started direct debit from my account last month paying vanquis £40 per month. This is all I can afford. I have checked my account and this has gone through. Today I received a letter whose main heading was "PAYMENT IS REQUIRED WITHIN 72 HOURS" and underneath that heading was - "FAILURE TO PAY WILL RESULT IN A DEFAULT NOTICE BEING ISSUED" What does this mean as I have not defaulted on a payment? They are asking me for a payment of £194.61 which I simply don't have. What do I do please. I also have x2 Catalogue debts which I am paying at £5 and £10 a month. The £5 one is Marasota and I requested a CCA? from them. They sent me a load of statement BUT the signature on the document is not mine. The debt is (they have added so many charges of "12 sometimes 2 in one day) but I don't know how to respond to this letter either. I once spoke to Marasota or reliable collections I think it was and told them that I am terminally ill (which I am) and they are now requiring drs letters and medical letters, I didn't think that they could do this? PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME. I FEEL LIKE MY HEAD IS EXPLODING. I'm getting so down with all the phone calls - some don't leave a number, that my health, already bad is suffering.   13. I'll start from the beginning. I am an engineer and made decent money when i was in the job i had from leaving school at 17, im now 33. Back in 2006 i had debts close to 40k, which i was paying all ok, as listed below: Barclays loan - 19k Barclaycard - 8.5k Halifax CC - 8k MBNA CC - 8k A sudden, unwanted change of job meant i couldnt afford the repayments on above debts. I contacted all the above and after defaulting on payments (adding charges for late payment etc) etc and sending SoA's they all eventually agreed to freeze interest and enter repayment plans (Barclays were v.helpful with the loan and offered a Resolve loan for the 19k completely interest free over 10 years, so instead of paying £400 p/m the repayment was down to £170) the others were all £100 p/m each. As of now the Barclays Resolve loan stands at £8k and all the CC's are down to around 4.5k each. So total was paid down to around 20k from original 40k Around 6 months ago I received a demand for £18500 for an uninsured car accident from 2007 from Weightmans DCA Via MiB (Motorist Insurers Bureau) I hired a solicitor to deny any involvement in this accident and Weightmans have now dropped the claim and returned the file to MiB. However i have since read that MiB,s next step will be to take me to court where they *may* be able to prove my involvement and therefore my liability to pay the £18500 I now find myself working a 2.5 day week on minimum wage, earning £670 p/m. I have Vanquis/IMPACT DCA chasng me for a further 2k CC debt and 1.4k owing to Very catalogue as well as the above debts. I am sinking, really stuggling to pay the bills, let alone all the debt repayments. I really think Bankruptcy is my best option, I have no assets and no savings. I have some questions if anyone is kind enough to help: 1) My wife and her father own our home, I have never owned the house or even been on the mortgage, will bankruptcy have any affect on this? 2) My wife is currently on maternity leave, however she will be made redundant in March 2013 and get a payout of 17k, will bankruptcy have any claim on this money? 3) Our family car is registered on my name, however it is owned by my wifes father, he paid a £1500 deposit and financed £4.8k and we currently pay standing order to him of £140 p/m which covers the payments, The car is legally his and untouchable in Bankruptcy, right? 4) What should my first steps be regarding the CC debts as I have so-far ignored all calls, (Vanquis/IMPACT are making lots of noise about doorstep collection etc) should i offer a £1 payment or such in the meantime? 5) I also owe approx £1500 to HMRC which will be due on 31st Jan 2013 which i already know i wont be able to pay, how should i deal with this?   14. Hello everyone I would be very grateful for any advice on the following: Recently had cause to look at Hubby's credit file 1. Hubby works away so I usually deal with accounts. Have a complaint with Vanquis over penalty charges since 9th Jan 2012 which they can't locate despite this being lodged over the phone and in writing. 2. Find out recently that hubby has defaulted 31/05/2012. Since going into dispute his account has been placed on hold with 1st Credit and C.A.R.S whilst they investigate the claims. 3. Contacted Vanquis/ Impact over the phone intially to be told taht he actually defaulted 27th October 2011, with default notice being sent out 10th Oct 2011. The thing is nothing was received as shown on his credit file he was up to date.A payment was made for £49.76 on the 26th Oct that is showing on statements as 28th Oct. Impact/Vanquis state that the default ammount was his outstanding balance of £541. Requests for the default notice have not been met. 4. The customer relations have re-lodged his complaint as we did set up another direct debit in January which was not set up. Since then every DCA have placed his account on hold until they investigate. 5. Impact are well, unhelpful to say the least. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
