  1. What do people think about choice to add another runway at Heathrow ? Was this an enevitable decsion, because a main hub airport near a big international city like London, has to have at least three runways to be able to operate. It is going to take more than 10 years befors this new runway is put into operation. In that time China will have added several new airports with all the facilities. Why is the UK so slow in building new infrastructure ? In addition to this, i would expect Gatwick to get another runway, as you cannot increase flights at the moment, because there is only one runway almost at full capacity.
  2. Hi All, sorry to trouble you. I just don't understand this. We went to drop off some family guests (who were from overseas) that had been staying with us to Leonardo Hotel Near Heathrow. The entrance to the hotel is a via a private drive to the rear. We helped them with their luggage, helped them check-in - at no point did the staff ask us whether we had a car or any charges for waiting. The check-in took over 15mins, we then helped them with their luggage to their rooms and said our good-byes and left the hotel. Received a PCN just a over a week later stating we had stayed 40mins and charge is £100 discounted to £60 if paid within 14 days. I rang the hotel, the unfriendly staff went on the defensive, saying there are 19 signs all round the hotel, in the lift etc. How does a hotel expect guests to be dropped off - just park up and throw the luggage out and wave out the car window as we speed off in fear of getting a parking charge. This is really below the belt behaviour. The hotel sent a short abrupt email stating that I had to call parking eye to deal with any issues - the number they gave me is the payment tel number which only deals with payments. Please could you advise what is the best way to do deal with this. I would normally ignore these type of letters, but I understand Parking Eye typically takes people to the court. Thank you.
  3. Hi all Just need some valuable insight about the above PCN I received last week. I had an interview at one of the World Business Centres near Heathrow Airport at Newall Road. I was driving down from Luton, and was quite stressed about the interview. I parked my car at a private building next to the world business centre as parking at the centre was controlled by barriers. I forgot to check the parking fee and parked my car on one of the slots in that private building area. When I returned back in 45 mins after the interview there was a purple colour notice pasted on my windscreen to pay £45 within 21days or £90 within 28days. I did manage to catch hold of the parking attendant who issued the penalty and he did mention that he would not be able to destroy the notice as it was centrally operated. I have tried to go online as mentioned on the notice but the website seems to not work. I have read a few forums online about disregarding these notices as they are not legal notices? Before I would want to spend £45 for nothing, can someone guide me if I will get way by not paying the fine? Hope to hear from someone, Many thanks LK
  4. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/markets/article-2196843/Nick-Cleggs-shift-Heathrow-flights-break-EU-law.html The UK is one of the only countries who have Major airports so close to city centres. I think there is a good arguement to increase capacity at airports like Luton.
  5. Today, I forgot to display my disabled badge while parked in Terminal 5 at Heathrow. I got hold of the parking attrentant five minutes after he issued the PEN, showed him my valid badge plus my driving licence for id purposes. He said he couldn't revoke the penalty himself only APCOA Parking in Uxbridge could do it, wrote 'Verified' with a short scribbled signature on the car park exit ticket. He further suggested I write to APCOA sending copies of my badge, driving licence , exit car park ticket bearing his. .scribbling reassuring me that they will cancel the charge. What shall I do, do as he suggested or wait for them to contact me and then what ? Can someone put me at ease ? P.S This PEN comes as my...two days ago 70th birthday, present !!!!!
