  1. Just checked my credit file on Noddle. Hitachi Capital have run 2 searches on me, 1 in February and again in August. Feb. was marked "Administration Review" and August search was marked "Price Comparison Hdd". I have never had any dealings with Hitachi, and have never had a price comparison for anything that I am aware of. Why have these searches been done? Should I be concerned? I have had no direct contact from Hitachi. Thanks t
  2. Any ideas who this lot are?? And i do bank with Barclays Just had a new credit search on my credit file that i did not ask or authorise Exquifax say it is a credit broker company I realise this is probably a "Soft search" but who are these people, and more to the point why are they doing credit checks?? If this has anything to do with that Clearscore then i shall not be happy
  3. hi,just wondering if anyone could give me a little advice on behalf of a friend. he bought a toshiba laptop around 8 months ago and the hdd is starting to fail,when switched on,it takes a long time to load up,when it does get to the home screen,it comes up with a message stating "Windows detected a hard disk problem",it gives 2 options,"start the backup process", or,"Ask me again later". fortunately,there is nothing he is concerned about losing on the hdd,as it is all on an external hdd,,so my question is this---can he go to the pcworld store where he bought it and expect a free repa
  4. I would be grateful for any advice on how to proceed with this problem: I had a desktop failure that turned out to be the motherboard on a PC of about 3 years in age. I took it to Techguys in PC World where it cost £69 to tell me it was the motherboard. The data on the hard drive had not been backed up for a long time (basic error I know!) and so I paid £99 for the Data Recovery service. The Data Recovery was paid for 2 months ago and the PC incl HDD went in to the Techguys. Despite numerous phone calls and personal visits to the store, the PC and HDD can not be found. Despite numer
