  1. I got a NTK through the post today. Attached is the NTK and sat view of the layout. The entrance ANPR camera is before any car park signs, It does not say whether the driver was parked in the actual car park or on the forecourt. Street view shows the signs, I am unable to get a picture of the sign without a drive into London to get there. https://goo.gl/maps/yh1ehnDVUsR2 For PCN's received through the post [ANPR camera capture] please answer the following questions. 1 Date of the infringement 27/09/2018 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 08/10/2018 3 Date received 10/10/2018 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? [y/n?] Yes 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? Number plate only 6 Have you appealed? {y/n?] post up your appeal]No 7 Who is the parking company? Euro Car Parks 8. 2. I came to return my brother's car and parked on the suspended bus stop which had been closed due to Gasworks mains replacement. Below is my letter to Newham, I have appeal on 18th Jan 2019 and need some guidance. The PCN ….. was issued while the vehicle was parked on the Bus Stop on Plashet Road. Plashet Road was closed due to Mains Replacement work on Green Street. Stukeley Road had notices stating that it was closed from 28th July to 5th October. The works overran the above schedule and I wasn’t aware of its completion until after I was informed about PCN. My brother was replacing carpet at his home and had borrowed by Toyota Previa to dispose off old carpet at the tip in Jenkins Lane. I came on Sunday to replace the car, I parked his little Swift and drove off with my Previa. Later my brother found the above-mentioned PCN on his car and sent me a message. I accept parking his Swift on the bus stop as the bus stop was suspended since the start of the work, all buses were being diverted via Stukeley Road. Had the notices stated the correct date and if the notices were removed after the completion of the works I would have realised the bus stop suspension was removed and not parked the Swift where I did. I will appreciate if you will revoke this penalty as I didn’t park the Swift to cause any obstruction and nor was it intentional. I hope to hear from you very soon.

  4. Towards the end of April 2017, an agent working on behalf of Green Star Energy knocked at my elderly parents' door in order to sell their services and make them switch energy providers. My father, who answered the door, advised that he would be interested in finding out more and was advised that information would be sent to his address. This was the last he heard until he received a letter from his current energy provider EON around two weeks afterwards, advising his energy services would be moving to a new provider. He immediately called EON, as he didn't know who the purported new energy provider was! EON advised him that it was Pioneer, who after a bit of Googling we found out to be Green Star Energy. Unfortunately EON said they could not reverse this, as my parents had not requested to leave EON, and they advised they would have to speak to Green Star. My father then called Green Star who advised that if he wished to 'change his mind' he would need to pay a penalty of £50! Just to clarify again, he at no point requested to join them! I intervened and wrote to CEO, Joanne Thornton, on 8th May 2017 and was responded to by someone from the Customer Services department stating they couldn’t find my parents account under their name and address. And this is where this saga begins… I responded immediately with my parents’ meter serial number and a different Customers Services agent responded two days later with the following email: “I can see from the account that the supply did switch over to Green Star Energy on the 10/05/2017, we have raised an erroneous transfer for both the gas and electricity to be returned back to Eon. This process can take up to 12 weeks to complete fully, once completed it will be as if the supply never left Eon and no billing will come from Green Star Energy. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused yourself and Mr & Mrs Fish and we will correct this as quickly as possible.” Problem resolved. Or not… After 12 weeks, EON still didn’t have the account back. In fact by October of 2017 the account was still with Green Star and one of their guys came round to read the meter! At the end of October I sent another email trying to ascertain what the hell was going on and based on their own timescales, we shouldn’t still be in this position – especially as my parents did not sign up to be with them! Five weeks later(!), I got this reply: “I am sorry to hear that you have been dissatisfied with the service that we have provided. Here at Green Star Energy we aim to deliver an excellent customer experience and we are always disappointed when we fall short of this ideal. I have attempted to contact you on 01/12/2017 in regards to your open complaint with Green Star Energy. I can confirm that the discussed account has finally be Erroneously Transferred Back to the previous supplier and the account is no longer active I apologies this has taken longer then expected, I hope this conformation constitutes as a resolution to your complaint.” So, according to Green Star, EON have the account again. Now bear in mind that in Green Star’s original email to me they stated that, “This process can take up to 12 weeks to complete fully, once completed it will be as if the supply never left Eon and no billing will come from Green Star Energy.”, imagine my parent’s surprise when a demand dropped on their mat, from Green Star, asking for payment of £650! No prior bill, nothing. I’ve reached the end of my tether with this company. Please can anyone help me as to what my options are to resolve this once and for all? My parents didn’t even sign up with this company! It’s appalling, and they are elderly and do not need this stress. Many thanks in advance!
  5. hi i parked a few weeks ago in the disabled bay with my badge, my badge was on the side of the windscreen but could still be seen. week or so later i had a parking charge notice, i ignored it as i was advised to do, so far have had 3, last week had one from Gladstones solicilors saying they are taking me to court any advice please!
  6. My wife CCA'd the RBS regarding her credit card. They have sent back a copy of her application form (below) and a copy of a 7 page Credit Agreement. The copy of the credit agreement is unsigned (in fact there is nowhere on the agreement to sign) so I imagine if thats their best effort, the agreement is unenforcable. What do you think folks.
  7. Need some advice for family member please. A and B are a couple and were moved under protection from Y to Z overnight. They were in temporary accommodation until early 2016 so were unable to update keeper details until they knew where they would be living. 19/02/16 at 0750, Bailiff knock requesting £787, £477 fine? plus £75 compliance and £235 enforcement (Nothing received beforehand) He also threatened same day removal and threatened them with another £110 for that pleasure. I have a copy of every text sent from Bailiff and family member. Finally agreed £50 a week, they have make every payment on time (except Bank holidays) but bailiff has demanded the £50 this week, plus the last £37 or he will add more charges. Just someone to check figures and any advice gratefully accepted. Jogs

  9. The Government’s flagship energy efficiency scheme is at risk of being undermined by [problem]mers trying to make a quick buck, reveals new evidence from Citizens Advice. Seven in 10 consumer queries to Citizens Advice about Green Deal are about [problem]s. More than half of people caught out by these [problem]s are contacted out of the blue, either over the phone or by door to door sales, and offered thousands of pounds worth of home improvements for free. Citizens Advice wants to see a ban on cold calling and doorstep selling of Green Deal to protect consumers from fake firms. New analysis from Citizens Advice finds people are losing up to £500 after paying a fee for an assessment that never goes ahead or, if it does, the company then doesn’t get in touch to do the work. In some cases people are asked to provide their bank details for the assessment fee to be refunded only to find more money is taken from their account without their permission. Under the actual Green Deal system you may be asked to pay an assessment fee but any costs should be explained and a Green Deal Advice Report provided after the assessment. http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/pressoffice/press_index/press_20140424.htm
  10. There is a call centre some where in the Glasgow area claiming to be "government funded" and promoting the installation of solar panels. The name they give is (nearly always) the "Green Energy Initiative", which if one googles for, turns up nothing. Being ex-directory and TPS registered, I grow weary of telling these people where to go - I have (at times) been polite, forceful, blunt, down right rude, and even vulgar. Nothing seems to work. If anyone has a confirmed address and traceable name for this outfit, I would be most interested. Have a box of kippers and some legal papers to send to them.
  11. Hi, looking for a little advice, I have been browsing through previous threads but getting a little confused. Just got home and found that my Wife has received a Parking Charge Notice issued by New Generation Parking Management, The letter states that £60.00 to be paid within 14days for no valid permit. The "Offence" was at Talbot Green CF728AL. No ticket or notice was affixed to car at time of "alleged" incident. There are some grainy pictures attached showing my Wife's car, I followed link for High quality ones but they are not available on their website. My question is this, as the notice has been sent to my wife as she is registered keeper but the notice states that the vehicle is in breach of T&C's but the contractual signage is directed at the actual driver and not the registered keeper is this enforceable? Do I have to provide name of driver? Any help or advice is appreciated...
  12. A friend just emailed this to me.. Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this 'green thing' back in my earlier days." The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations." She was right -- our generation didn't have the 'green thing' in its day. Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day. Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribbling's. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags. We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right; we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day. Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right; we didn't have the "green thing" back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. Back then, people took the bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family's $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did before the "green thing." We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint. But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the "green thing" back then? Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart young person... We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to tick us off ... especially from a tattooed, multiple pierced smart person who can't make change with-out the cash register telling them how much.
  13. My girlfriends car suddenly started to shake and loose speed on the A12, so she pulled into a lay by and used the SOS phone. The person on the phone advised them all (Her, her disabled mother and niece) to get out of the car and wait on the bank for Green Flag to come out. Green flag said they would take an hour, but after an hour, she called them back and they said they would be another hour. After that hour, she called back again and was told that they are still looking for someone who can come out. It wasn't until two and a half hours did someone actually come out. Bearing in mind this was during very hot weather, and they had a young child with them. I know green flag tend to refund £10 if they are more than an hour late, but surely two and a half hours should be at least a couple of months free?? She has sent a letter off to complain, nothing back yet. Is this worth pursuing?
  14. Hi all. I parked within a parking bay opposite Birmingham city hospital, it was a 1 hour parking place. I am a blue badger holder and when I returned to my car I saw that I got a parking ticket. I thought blue badge holders could park up to three hours. Furthermore as stated I am a blue badge holder which means I am disabled and takes me long to get back to the car and on top of this I went to go see my sister who has only weeks to live as she has terminal cancer.do u think its worth challenging the parking ticket? I was only 20 mins over. There were other cars with blue badges on who hadn't received a parking ticket.
  15. The Green Deal is a government backed scheme that can help you make energy-saving improvements to your home or business, for example: insulation - eg solid wall, cavity wall or loft insulation heating draught-proofing double glazing renewable energy generation - eg solar panels or heat pumps You have to pay back the cost of the improvements over time because the Green Deal is a loan. The BBC has found that some firms promoting the scheme are mis-leading consumers by claiming the Green Deal was free and that they qualified for the scheme - even though they needed to have an assessment. The word 'loan' was never mentioned in their sales patter. Some consumers were told that their council tax bills would be cut if their homes were more energy efficient or that they would get a new boiler if they paid the assessment fee. Across Wales and England only 219 Green Deal plans have been completed but BBC has received more than 250 complaints from viewers who say they have been misled by cold calling companies http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-25290101
  16. I owe some money on last years council tax, and when I was working I paid off what I needed to each month to keep them happy via my council. but been unemployed for a few months, first they wanted me to pay £50 + a month, wish I had that spare... I sent a letter back no reply, today get a letter from Stanford and Green saying they are going to take my motorbike its just a little 125 that I use to get around, suffering from asthma a lot recently so I rely on it highly. and it helps when I have job interviews to go to them. anyway called him, no answered, called again and answered, very arrogant person, seems like not a good bone on him. tell him all I can do ATM is £20 a month as I'm really suffering for low income at the moment. and he didn't really care for it. really disappointed, and his attitude on the phone was terrible, I wish I did not call him. no idea what i can do now.. any suggestions would be great guys.
  17. Hi there, My first post so please be gentle! The usual story, lost my job, got into debt with several companies, of which they are all mostly cleared now. I still however owe Green Energy over £800, incurred during the winter for heating and from previous missed bills . I have massively decreased my electricity usage since getting into trouble to around £30 per month, and started paying them back £60 per month. However, they wanted me to setup a Direct Debit for this which at the time I said was fine and to send me the forms. However since then I had several large unexpected bills that automatically went out via direct debit, and pushed me back in debt and caused me overdraft charges. As a precaution and to prevent a repeat, I canceled all direct debits and now pay manually and informed Green Energy that I would pay manually before the end of each month after they started chasing me for DD forms. They are aware I am on extremely low income, and I informed them that I could not guarantee when cash would be available in the bank for automatic payments, and could not risk further overdraft payments making me fall even further in debt. The reply I got back from them basically threatens me, and they are trying to force me into automatic payments. My question was, is it legal for a utility company force you to use a DD even knowing that it could cause you even more debt? Can they refuse a payment plan by me not paying by DD? I understand they are just trying to make it easier for themselves to collect payment, but it really will cause me hardships if I go into overdraft again as I can barely keep up with current outgoings. Below is a copy / paste from the relevant parts of the email: ------------------------ "I did make the agreement of £60 per month on the understanding that you keep your usage under £30 per month and that you make your payments by direct debit. As you do not wish to pay by direct debit I am afraid the agreement we made is not possible. Your current arrears is £834.36. If you can make a lump sum payment of £400 by the end of August then I can accept monthly payments of £60 per month via any payment method if your usage remains low. If you cannot commit to this a direct debit will have to be set up by Friday 30th August and I will require a manual payment of £60 by then to cover August’s usage. The direct debit can be on 15th or 25th of each month with effect from September. If you fail to act on either of the above the full balance will immediately become due. ------------------------------------------------- Thanks
  18. What a shame, a strapping 6ft 5" and 300 pounds. Michael Clarke Duncan's fiancée says the Oscar-nominated star of The Green Mile has died while being hospitalised following a July heart attack. Publicist Joy Fehily released a statement from Duncan's partner, the Rev. Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, saying the 54-year-old actor died on Monday morning in a Los Angeles hospital after nearly two months of treatment after the July 13 heart attack. The 6ft 5in, 300 pound star appeared in dozens of films, including box office hits Armageddon, Planet of the Apes and Kung Fu Panda.
