  1. If so, you could be missing out on valuable credits that would help build up your pension. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38654321
  2. Hi i am looking for help for my inlaws, they held a timeshare in tenerife for approx 20 or so years. The same two weeks in october, in october 2009 they had their last holdiay and approached the then management. The apartment had not been decorated in numerous years, the kitchen cupboards were hanging off and they were generally dis-satisfied with the whole set up. They took a phone call on their return to the uk and stated they were not renewing the two weeks and would not be returning. In 4 years they have not had any correspondence, no requests for any fees nothing. They continue to holiday in tenerife and her brother lives there. The two weeks initially bought have been continually let out to other families and has not been empty on their designated 2 weeks since sept 2009. It the meantime grand holidays have taken over the flamingo club. Now in dec 13 she received an email from daniel silverman asking for £5000 for the timeshare, they contacted CAB who told them to sit tight. Today they recieved a letter dated 2.1.14 from the same company asking for the same amount within 7 days (which has obviously passed). They have no idea what to do, no communication for 4 years then this. They are now both retired with only pensions to live on and both out of their mind with worry. Help what can they do
  3. Hi I had a five year fixed term deal with the halifax which expired in February this Year which reverted back to the standard variable rate so I presumed there would be no redemption penalty when I sold my flat . I had a surprise when my redemption was two thousand pounds more than the amount i borrowed . I called the halifax and they couldnt explain to me what the charges were and I spoke to two different customer service agents , they both just said it was interest on the loan . As the mortgage was interest only and I was paying this back monthly anyway I am bewildered as to what these charges are . I am going into a branch tomorrow to get a better explanation ,just wondered if anyone else could help ?
  4. Hi hope everyone had a good christmas, I have just had to replace my tail gate door handle and micro switch because it has failed, the car is just over four years old and has done less than 30,000 miles, if think this part should not be failing so soon in its life, as anyone had the same problem cheers.
  5. Hi All. I recently bought a 55 plate Renault Grand Scenic 1.9DCi from a small dealer in Portsmouth. We have had the car for 8 weeks and so far we have had to charge the AC as it wasnt giving any cold air at all, taken the car back to the dealer to have an emissions fault fixed and now the car has lost all power and seems to have a failed turbo. We have spoken to the dealer and they have said that they will only pay for the first £300 of repair as per their warranty conditions. Now, as I see it we are covered under the SOGA as the car to us is only 8 weeks old and a failed turbo is a serious issue. We have spoken to our local mechanic and the quote is £950 using genuine parts. We are going to email the dealer to try to resolve the issue but should the dealer stick with only paying the first £300, should I get the car repaired myself and take him through small claims? Thanks for your advise!! EDIT: Just had a thought, the car was purchased using my Tescos credit card. How does this affect the issue and getting it resolved? J.
