  1. Hi there, I hope this is the right place to post. I'm currently trying to negotiate a full and final settlement for my debts. I currently owe £35k to NatWest (2 credit cards and 2 loans), Tesco Bank (credit card) and Capital One (credit card). I had a substantial drop in income around 2010, and spent 3 years making reduced payments, interest frozen, after negotiating an agreement directly myself with the organisations I owed money to. I've been making token payments of £1 for over a year now because I didn't have any money to pay. I've sin
  2. Hi all, I am after some advice. I have a CC debt with HSBC I defaulted on in 2010. Since then they passed to MCS and I have been paying £80 a month. Balance is now £7800. obviously I have a default on my file. I am hoping to do a full and final settlement offer with MCS but need advice on how much to offer, what I need to make sure is done and will this improve my file at all? I have noticed on Experian that HSBC are still marking defaulted every month. From my understanding the default will fall off my file in 2016. is this correct? thanks for your he
  3. Hi. I have sent a cheque (from a friends cheque book not from myself) as an offer of full and final settlement, the company has sent the cheque to a debt agency which now say they are now Administrating" the debt, but that is a side issue, the issue is that in the letter that I sent to them (with the cheque) when I made the offer, I stated very cleary that they do not have permission to bank the cheque unless it is in acceptance of the full and final offer. They have banked the cheque, and sent me a letter demanding payment of the rest of the debt otherwise further action will be ta
  4. Hi, I took a loan with Lloyds in 2003 for £10,000. I started missing payments and eventually the loan was passed to DCA, Cabot Financial. Since 2007, I have been making regular payments to Cabot Financial. I have managed to bring the balance down to just a little over £6,000 now. I called them and made a full and final settlement offer of £3,300 after going back and forth multiple times! I told them I was not making any payments until I received a written confirmation accepting my offer in figures as a full and final settlement of the money owed to the account. I also wante
  5. Hi everyone. Have been reading these forums with interest and need some solid advice about debts owed by a family member of mine. He has lived in the Channel Islands for the last 6 years and left debts behind in England. He has had a debt management programme running for al this time. The Debt Management Company take £90 a month from him which includes a £25 management fee. The debt will be paid off in 22 years if the payments stay the same. The main reason to write now is that he and his partner are due to have a baby in August. They are also having to move from a 1 bed small flat to a slig
  6. Hi, We have a bit of unusual situation here and dont know how to deal with it properly and will appreciate your expert opinions and comments in this regard. My girlfriend and i moved to an Asian country almost two years ago for work. We were going through some financial hardships in UK and my girlfriend sought advice from "clear you debt" [problem] company who has run away with over 4000GBP since without solving the matter. Anyway, since we have ben overseas we have successfully negotiated full and final settlement with MBNA (RMA) and Egg (ARC Europe Ltd). We have one more credit card d

  8. Hi I currently have debts with Cabot (from Egg) and MBNA (virgin CC) being paid back through a DMP with CCCS. In the last 2/3yrs I have paid back £5000 and have the following left: MBNA £2815.09 Cabot £793.55 I have only just learnt about FFS's and although I have next to nothing to offer, I read they sometimes accept as little as 20% so could possibly look to clear the Cabot debt with around £160. Do I have to offer MBNA anything? Is this worth doing? Is there anything I should know apart from the usual keep copies of letters, ensuring they mark the debt as cleared etc? Is
  9. Hi all, I've been keeping my eye on these forums for some time after getting myself into a very sticky situation with a certain very well known building society a few years ago. After 2 years of unbeleiveable financial stress and what appeared to be an impossible situation without BR.. I have today managed to reach an agreement on a full and final settlement that I never dreamed of I do not have it in writing as yet, so do not want to reveal too much until it arrives in black and white. But as soon as I have it in writing I will reveal all. However, they have suggested tha
